Most picturesque and most perfect castle in Northern Italia. Easily seen from the motorway, exit and visit Castello di Fenis. Soaring turrets, ramparts...grand entry gate, unique interior keep, medieval antiquities and weaponry, costumes and regallia. Take a break from driving and don't miss this masterpiece.

My wife and I stopped and visited a few of the Chateaus/Castles in the area while driving from Switzerland to Torino. The Fenis Castle is very nice and dates back to the 12th century and is a legitimate fortress. Although the tours are only in...More

I took a bus from Aosta, cost 2.20 euro, to Fenis Castello in August 2016. Fantastic value 7 euros. Unfortunately it was extremely busy and had to wait in line for 45 minutes to buy my ticket, then had to wait another 1 hour and...More

Murals are interesting, the furniture as they explain was gathered afterwards from different regions so isn't authentic. If you don't mind being forced to take the Italian tour and are in the area it certainly is a photogenic chateau.

The castle or fortress is very impressive from the outside with its multitude of towers and last but not least its setting on top of a hill. It is the most spectacular castle in the area from the outside. The inside and tour we found...More

A short drive from Aosta, Fenis is worth the drive for castle enthusiasts. We were fortunate to have an Italian speaker translate the tour guide's highlights. I think it's a definite drawback that they only provide guided tours - and only in Italian.
