Ten of us travelled to Mount Tomah on Easter Saturday for a picnic lunch. Although the parking areas filled quickly, the gardens are large enough to absorb the crowds. Well laid paths with detailed maps makes it easy to find your way around. Free entry and car parking. Restaurant and coffee available.

The gardens are stunningly beautiful, the interpretation signage is a bit haphazard, but unfortunately after promising the kids a hot chocolate all day the cafe closed at least an hour before the gardens. The sad face on the 'sorry closed' sticker said it all really.

A pleasant stop during trip to Blue Mountains. Variety of different gardens, peaceful to walk through or to enjoy views from the terrace at the visitor centre.

My husband and I visited Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens on the Saturday Easter Public holiday. We arrived at 10.45am and at the time there was plenty of parking available and it wasn't very busy. The gardens are very tranquil and there are beautiful views of the Blue Mountains. The Gardens are perfect for families and couples as there are plenty... More

We go here quite a lot, it is such an oasis of calm. There is lots of parking, a cafe and toilets and then the most amazing scenery you can imagine. I can just sit for hours and look out over the mountains and I would do if I did not have 3 children who want to run and play... More

I have to say I can't believe a garden of this standard is free! I adore the Sydney garden but the mountains garden here is so special.. With conifers & alpine plants galore there's so much to admire in this mountain setting. The views are amazing & the garden is full of pathways & summer houses that provide a meandering... More

Although not much in Flower at this time of year, it was very pleasant and peaceful. It is a little bit steep on the return so take your time with a leisurely stroll and enjoy the scenery.

A wonderful collection of plants from all over the world including the Wollemi pine. Not many visitors. Not the best of signposting as we were coming from Katoomba. There were a number of impatient bogan drivers on the roads as well as road trains sweeping along - not a drive for the faint hearted.
