We had a really tasty dinner. Menu not overly extensive but what was on it was well presented. We were allocated a table in the bar area where there seemed to be more diners than drinkers so I did feel that if you wanted a cosy corner to sit with a drink, you would struggle. However our starters (crab meat... More

We live locally and went for a lunch here. The food was very expensive and the portions tiny. I ordered a goats cheese with gluten free option. When it arrived, it was one piece of cheese with half a tomato, for £6.50. I complained and received all tiny bit of extra salad, while my gluten free bread arrived after I... More

Great food and friendly waitress. Quiet in the restaurant that day but lovely lunch. Great to see the new bar in the main dining room, it's been a while since I last visited. Gardens still amazing

Went as advertised was a curry night. It was not so very disappointed. They said they had Thai curry which was very average and poppodoms were see through with grease and rice swimming in water.

We had a variety of meat and vegetarian main course dishes that were interesting, e.g. I had venison filet and sausage with wild mushrooms, sliced radishes and turnip with a mustard sauce and chocolate mousse. The venison and mushrooms were great, the chocolate mousse didn't quite come off, but nice at the end. The vegetarian options were enjoyed by several... More

Went for the Sunday lunch bogof for every Sunday in November..great deal!!! We had assorted breads with olive oil and balsamic vinegar accompanied by a nice Cornish lager....we both had the roast beef that was cooked to perfection, with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and veg selection...all seasoned beautifully. We ended the meal with Apple crumble and lemon tart. We couldn't... More

We ate here before watching a film at the cinema. The service was friendly and the atmosphere nice but..... My husband ordered a main course of pork in filo. It tasted lovely but only came with 3 tiny sprigs of broccoli and nothing else (for 15.95). We had ordered chips to go with it (an extra £3) but their chip... More

The broccoli soup we had tasted awful - it was bland and had a citrusy acid taste which was unpleasant - it needed seasoning and could have done with some cream or Stilton in it. My husband also disliked it - wished we had sent it back now as neither of us liked it. The main meals were good. Very... More

I've been to Dartington many years before, and decided to visit again now that the White Hart has been refurbished. Although it is listed on Tripadvisor as a 'pub', it has now become a lot more upmarket, restyled as a 'bar and restaurant'. The food was delicious and fresh. The problem lies in their portion sizes. I ordered the catch... More

In opulent surroundings what is not to like? I understand it was a quaint pub before but you have to move with the times and I particularly like it and the products that are on offer such as the real ale. A particular favourite 'Proper Job'.
