Too many boats, driven by too many unrespectful people. The local government should block them before, as it happens in Lotu.

You really have to take the speed boat taxi to easily reach this beach which costs 30 Euros each. Somewhat expensive but fun trips as the speed boat taxi touches 40 knots across the bay ! Exciting ride. The beach is very exposed and there is nothing there, except the beach ! Parasol is a really good idea as you are left on the beach for approx. 4 hours before return. It was very busy too but the sea is warm and clear. There are a lot of anchored day boats too but in general its a lovely beach. We had a good trip out there all round and everything was on time for the return.

This beach is simply not possible to describe with words... the colour of the water, the fine sand under your feet. It felt like being at the Maldives!

Saleccia is one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve even seen.. the water as clear as in maldives. Stunning. We took a boat taxi at 13:30 and went back 18:30 with last boat. More than enough time! Please bear in mind that there is NO RESTAURANT or any shop. So do bring your food and drinks. We bought a take away pizza next to the boat station. And do not forget your water because you must stay dehydrated!!

I would highly recommend visiting Saleccia beach! One of the most beautiful beaches in Europe!

Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience with "Le Popeye", the taxi boat operator. While we had booked (and already paid a decent amount!) for a trip visiting both the Lotu and the Saleccia beach and returning at 15.30, we learned that - because apparently the larger boat had "broken down" - we would only be able to visit Saleccia and we would need to return 13.30 (2h earlier). When we pointed out that this was a completely different trip (we promised our kids a full day trip visiting 2 beaches), the rude and arrogant answer was that we could come back 4 days later to have the trip that we had booked (although we would have been back home already then!). The way Popeye handled this (and of course a boat can break down) and communicated to us was very customer unfriendly. We could do nothing but accept this changed trip, without a (partial) refund or whatsoever. Very unsatisfying!

Positive note for the captain of our boat. He offered us an umbrella for the day to provide shadow for the kids at Saleccia (tip!).

Costs some money to get there (30 euros for a return ticket of the water taxi), but definitely worth it. The water taxi trip is also cool. Great for casual snorkelling and relaxation. Bringing some bread to feed the fish with is recommended. The beach is stretched and clean and offers more than enough space. The water is shallow, so one can walk quite a distance into the sea. The water is clear and clean and has a turquoise colour. Slight downside might be the many small and some large ships that gather around the beach during the day. In no way a dealbreaker though. Bring your own food and drinks, the nearest restaurant is 10 minutes away through the forest. Parasol is a must.

We took the first ‘Taxi Beach’ speedboat from St. Florent and were rewarded by a pristine white sand beach, turquoise water, without a soul in sight. It was just like this for about an hour, when the next speedboat arrived and even then, the beach was almost empty. After about 3 hours, we started to notice the beach fill up when people had made their way over from Lotu (where the larger boats drop off).

We took the inland path to Lotu, which took about 45 minutes. There is some shade along the pathway and it’s not a tough walk (we were wearing flip flops). You definitely need to bring everything that you may need with you though. Neither beach has much shade, there are minimal facilities and very limited refreshments. Taxi Beach collected us from the pier at Lotu and whisked us back to St. Florent in 20 minutes. We’ve already booked our next visit.

Just returned from a day trip to Saleccia... it was fantastic!
Such a beautiful beach with picture postcard water made all the better by the absence of beach bars and sun beds.
Despite what I read in other reviews there is a restaurant about 200m from the north end of the beach in the pine forest, with a decent menu, cold drinks, toilet and shower facilities.
There are lots of boats but it wasn’t over crowded on our visit and things seemed to quieten down from 2pm onwards.
We took a taxi boat from Saint Florent harbour that cost €30 per person return. It runs every hour, on the hour and takes 20mins. However the boats fill up quickly!
They will also drop you at Lotu beach if you want to visit that first but you need to hike 30mins to Saleccia afterwards if you want to see both.
Overall it was definitely worth a visit!

Saleccia is one of the most beautiful beaches I have been to in Europe. To take a speedboat from St Florent makes a day at Saleccia even better and completes the experience. white sand, turquoise water, not too many people although holiday season makes this a perfect spot for lovers as well as families with kids of all ages. Bring an umbrella, there is little shade and if you want to do a workout do a speedwalk to Lotu, another beautiful beach you can reach within 45 minutes walking.
