About
Serene forest area featuring tree-shaded hiking trails & a stream with picturesque cascades. However please do not drive to visit this site. There is no car park at Fairy Glen and on-street parking is very limited. Local police will penalise people who park illegally/irresponsibly on the surrounding roads. If you are looking for a more suitable family day out in the local area then the scenic Beacon Country Park has ample parking and a wide range of facilities catering for all ages.

Magical place

This is a beautiful place with adjoining public footpaths. I went on a date therewith my girlfriend. Took pictures near the little waterfall. There was glitter on the floor. It’s now our happy place.

It’s not all that

Old quarry that’s been left to nature, that really is over hyped. Don’t waste your time and the chance of a parking ticket. It takes no more than 15 minutes to do a lap of the place it’s that small.

First visit and impressed

We loved this special walk. It was something different and felt like you really got away from it all. Wear sensible shoes/trainers if you want to explore properly.

This is not a magical place it’s a tiny wood which backs onto an housing estate. Most local residents don’t even bother with this place as it is nothing special!!! People who visit from out of the area are blocking the main road which is a fast moving main A road which sees a lot of traffic accidents.
It’s ridiculous why the fairy glen gets so much unneeded attention. Visit elsewhere this just isn’t worth a road trip

Lovely

Regular spot to take the family, we always enjoy a walk around here. I've frequented here a lot during the lockdown, so it's nice to bring the family on a socially distanced visit and have them with me.

Great little day out for the kids.

I'd ignore any small minded folk who live in the vicinity and think they own this area of woodland! They are writing negative reviews to discourage people visiting. Its a beautiful area and is open to all people regardless of what area they live in!! ( covid restrictions permitting) there's lots of magic and wonder and the little ones will love it aswell as any adults. Its free to visit, parking is limited but as with most areas there is places to park if you look.

Nice area for a walk do not listen to negative reviews from locals who wish to stop visitors from out of area

I have visited fairy glen numerous times over the last 40 years and have always lived locally It’s a really nice place for a walk and has some nice little paths . The site has certainly got busier and could do with better parking , once you have visited the glen you can walk to the top of the hill for an iced cream and enjoy the view . There are also numerous other walks that you can take to enjoy the local scenery .

It's not worth travelling any distance for. Its a wood with a path through running along a stream with a little waterfall. There's really no need to come. Nowhere to park safely and very muddy.

Waste of time
Dec 2020
What a waste of time, I've seen bigger storm drains than this, and its covered in dog poop and litter. Its a tiny place it only takes 10 mins to walk around, very boring. its got no car park or any shops and that Main Road is an accident waiting to happen someone will be run over their before long as the cars are in a 60mps zone. Please don't bother.

Short walk
Dec 2020 • Couples
Fairy glen is a pretty little wood. You can pretty much see it in about 20 minutes.
I have visited over the years as I live nearby.
I think people think it's a spectacular wood full of mystery , fairy's and waterfalls. Actually it's not, it's literally a little back wood near a busy main road.
It's nice for a short walk with the dogs , but that it about it.
No parking , apart from a layby on the busy main road, people park dangerously and it makes it difficult to cross the road.

Apply bridge nearby has a nice canal for a short walk also.
