Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Can’t recommend this tour, or Helen our incredible guide, highly enough! 3 hours of walking, storytelling, discovery and a big dose of magic! Walking the land and learning about its story was a transformative experience and a highlight of my two weeks in Ireland. Helen is a true gem - so knowledgeable and passionate and generous in her sharing and guiding.

I was fortunate to receive two tours of Uisneach -- the first by Francez and the second by Simon. Both were extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and shared generously from their deep understanding and wealth of knowledge about celtic mythology in general and Uisneach in particular. They educated me, gently correcting misunderstandings under which I labored, and opened up new ways of thinking about the importance of Uisneach both for the bronze-age Irish but also for the current generation -- as a site of great social, cultural, and spiritual importance. Francez and Simon are great people. I am thankful for their generosity and glad that I was smart enough to book two tours with them. If I were smarter and had planned better, I'd have booked even more!

Before starting my own review i must comment on the previous by "Louise T", as our experience on the same day with the same guides was nothing as described. While yes, it was a particularly large crowd and numbers should maybe have been limited as there was only two guides, those two Guides were exceptional and incredibly educational and entertaining. The tour was designed to cater for all ages and all paces so it's unfortunate that other visitors didn't feel they received a personal "Special" treatment. (I understand that private tours are available.) As per the other complaints, it is made very clear in all literature and on the booking website that the site is part of a working farm, that appropriate clothing and ability are required and that the whole site has been the epicenter of sacral and royal power in Ireland for thousands of years. On the day the biggest disappointment was the interruptions of the guides by two disgruntled ladies, one of whom i can only assume is the reviewer, so it was a blessing for us all that this person left in a timely manner and ceased ruining the experience.

My own experience;. I came initially out of interest and a more than mild passion for Irish history and archaeology, not so much folk tales and ancient spirituality.
What I wasn't expecting was a life-changing spiritual experience; connecting to the land, the heart of the land and the thousands of generations that have passed here before in way that I could never have ever anticipated, hoped for or even dreamed of. The guides, Treasa and Shaun (two Druids or ancient storytellers reborn i believe) took us on a journey back in time to such a degree that we could see the ruined ancient palaces rising before us, experience the ancient druids and kings setting out the laws and feel the heat of several millennia of sacred fires, then we walked alongside Gods! They told stories for all ages, cautioned about "appropriate offerings", respect for the land, for "Liminal places?" and interactions with the Fae and other worlds, giving enrapturing examples from national and local folklore as well as their own incredible experiences. That they could tell stories, familiar from childhood but then bring them to life, show the location where the events occurred, it allowed me to walk astride with the Hero's of old. It took me to the centre of these tales with a new found appreciation and awe, and a joy to be descended from such ancestors. It allowed me to appreciate my home land in a way never ever understood before. But above all... to see the sun set at the centre of the land, at a place where people have worshiped and celebrated since time immemorial.. That was an honour.

The coffee at the end was granular and standard but the warmth and friendly conversations with the manager where greatly welcomed. The shop is charming and has a great selection of historical, archaeological, folklore and Irish Spirituality texts.

This is a life changing experience that I highly recommend. Just do your homework first and don't ruin it for everyone else if you're expecting personal treatment or Disney land... This place has a power Disney could't dream of.

The group was huge for our tour and it was all ages- it was impossible to hear the guides so it was not engaging. A tour bus of Polish tourists joined and there was no translation for them - it felt more like an amateur attraction and we were just walking through a farmers fields. Many in the group decided to leave early - tour guides needs microphones and stories should be short or guided should be able the read the crowd- kids were restless when we were there which made it even more challenging. Maps would help to know where you are going and even to read some interesting points….. signs along the way would also help for educational purposes. The whole place could have been made up….. just an odd experience.
