Perfect combination of golf and unwinding the soul at the hotel
Aug 2021
We stayed for a long weekend (4 nights) at the Bogogno Golf Resort and really enjoyed it. First of all, the hotel is modern, functional, clean, with decent room and bathroom size. Second, the resort and golf club offers TWO 18-hole courses called CONTE and BONORA - both great, in good condition and the latter being a bit more challenging (slope of about 136 for yellow tee off). Third the staff was friendly and helpful, and last, but not least, the price performance is good, including the restaurant.
There is also a 25m outdoor pool - which was great to use, especially after a round of golf and there is a spa, which we did not use while there.

While the golf resort is kind of in the woods/sticks and with that in a quiet environment, it is only about 45' from Lago d'Orta to the north or Novara to the south - both sites worthwhile to visit while there.

The only downside is when in a room on pool side, especially being in a room to the back, and you want to leave open the window in the night, that you may hear the AC devices - otherwise the area is very quiet and there is no major highway or similar that generates a lot of noise - even the Malpensa aircraft taking off did not disturb much as they were already quite high in the sky when flying over the resort.

Great golf resort

Excellent hotel with extremely knowledgable and helpful receptionists. The golfcourse and driving range few steps from the hotel entry. The restaurant needs improvement - some professional love in the kitchen would be helpful. There are many excellent restaurants in the environment.

Beautiful Italian countryside hotel, spa, and golf course
Apr 2019
This is actually a full vacation retreat for golfers, although non-golfers will enjoy the spa and other facilities. There are two golf courses on the grounds, both are worth playing. The hotel is on the spartan health retreat side but very clean and well staffed. We had a stay plan that included breakfast and golf to which we added a visit to the spa for massages and a dinner in the excellent restaurant. Highly recommended for golfers.

Tough test of golf
May 2019 • Friends
Two excellent courses. Stray off the fairway and you are either lost in water or chopping back from gripping semi rough, followed by a long approach shot.
Good golf will be rewarded and the scenery is stunning.
Clubhouse, restaurant and accommodation all high standard, including spa sauna and steam room.
Only downside is the situation is quite isolated so a change of restaurant at night is only possible by half hour drive/taxi.

Could have been perfect!
Jun 2019 • Friends
A group of golfing ladies booked for 3 nights/4 days to play golf and relax in a lovely Golf Resort.
The staff at hotel and especially Caddie Master are all very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are nice, clean and very convenient.
The big dissapointment was the swimming pool area!!! It was sunny and very hot (30 degrees) but the pool was a green slimy mass. According to their webpage it is supposed to be open from June to September. We had to drag some deckchairs onto the lawn ourselves for some well deserved rest after a round of golf. BUT we couldn't relax as now the pool was beeing emptied and cleaned with very noisy machines!!!!!

A must play for discerning golfers!
Sep 2018 • Friends
Last week we visited the area and played a number of courses.
Bogogno was a last minute addition to our itinerary and I cannot tell you how pleasantly surprised we were with both the layout and condition of both courses. They are challenging and really interesting and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to discerning golfers visiting the area. The complimentary warm up facilities (range and short game area) were also to a good standard. At a time when much higher ranked courses in the region are clearly struggling with course presentation due to the weather, Bogogno's two courses really stood out for us. I have read reviews that they are challenging and that the Bonora is hilly in parts. I wouldn't disagree but don't let this put you off - they are terrific!
As a result if we visit the area again Bogogno will be top of our list.

Stunning & tough Bonora course - not for the faint-hearted
Jun 2018 • Friends
This was the third course we played in the Milan/Como area during a stunning sunny golfing break. Bogogno is a modern golf resort/country club set up with a new clubhouse & golf hotel on site and two 18-hole loops. The par 72 Bonora course was by far and away the most difficult layout we played all weekend with not a single weak hole anywhere on the golf course. At 6000m off the yellow pegs, it’s probably advisable to hire a buggy as there are long distances between holes although the cart paths have seen better days. The greens are small and undulating and well protected by endless bunkering.

The course starts with a very challenging par 5 so you’ll be happy to walk off with a 6 as it’s tight with water, streams and a well defended uphill green. The whole course is a visual delight with some great par 3s and bunkering & water down the side of many fairways as you’d see in many US designs. This course was designed by famous American Robert von Hagge and it is a real test for the average club golfer. It’s hosted the Italian Open too. It runs through woods, hilly farmland and vineyards with beautiful villas dotting the course.

The clubhouse and its terrace is a welcome sight after a long & challenging toil. Great locker rooms with free towels as you will definitely need to freshen up afterwards. You can then relax and look over both courses and enjoy a well earned beer. I’ll be back to play both courses next time. Simply great golf!

Del Conte course in a very good shape!
Jun 2018
This was our very first time at Bogogno golf. We didn’t live in the resort, just visited for playing. The fairways were excellent and the raffs were hard. Greens were speedy enough 😱 We took the golf cart but the course is also easy to walk. After playing our round we took showers and I must say the changerooms were really great! The Del Conte course is very green and I mean the beautiful and huge trees and bushes which guard the holes. There is a relaxing silence around. I really enjoyed!

Disappointing
Jun 2018 • Friends
A nice course. Unfortunately this golf club seems to have become too commercial and lost the level of service received at most courses I’ve played in this area. I rented an electric trolley which ran out of battery on 10th. I called in to ask for a replacement and was told someone would come. No one did. When I arrived after the round to politely ask for a refund - I received a story about how I mis communicated where I was and the there was no way of refunding. I believe this level of service is poor for a club of this quality and green fee. My disappointment and disbelief of this situation was met with aggressive words from the “caddiemaster” We will not be returning.

Not as good as the past couple of years
May 2018 • Couples
This was our 3rd visit and we were disappointed by the service. I booked my stay 6 months in advance when only comfort rooms were left so this is what I booked asking to be on the waiting list for a Deluxe when one becomes available. 6 months down the road when it was time to travel, no new from the hotel who mentioned that there had been no change in their rooming list during all that time, which, honestly is very difficult to believe. I fear my request was forgotten about but they assured me it is not the case. Will never know. I did ask for a quiet room with some specifications, which were not met at the time of check-in and so they offered a bottle of Prosecco as a compensation, which is a nice gesture but could have been avoided if my request was handled with more care. They told me at check-in that brand new this year was the spa... when in fact the spa opened last year already and I had used it during my last stay. Oh and this year, the welcome drink voucher was not part of the welcome package anymore. The pool was closed, which they could have mentioned at the time of booking, just so guests are aware and expectations managed upfront. The hotel was full as we visited during a bank holiday and when they reach their full capacity, then the restaurant is dysfunctional. The space is too small to host so many people comfortably and the service is badly impacted. Same for dinner actually, really uncomfortable. Breakfast quality is average but constant throughout the years. You cannot check-out before 7am in the morning so if you plan on departing early, best is probably to settle the bill the night before. There was a mistake in ours, 2 rounds of golf missing, which I reported in full honesty but looking back at our overall experience, I probably should have said nothing. Gold remains great but on busy days it gets very very very slow with little marshal presence to keep things running smoothly. Seriously considering exploring a different place next place instead of returning again.
