A fitting tribute to a wonderful film and a great visual comic actor.

Having travelled 600 miles, from England, especially to visit the museum, I was not disappointed. The town is lovely, the town square is still completely recognisable from the film and the museum is a joy. Being anglophone is no problem as the staff speak excellent English and provide an English audio commentary.

The museum is split into two sections - the first being a recreation of the town square, with a son et lumiere telling of the making of the outdoor parts of the film. The English commentary is relaxed and funny, as well as informative, and I learned lots about the filming, as well as about Jacques Tati himself.

The second section is a recreation of the inside of the bar, with more about the actual filming process and some visual tricks in the film.

I really enjoyed the visit and I can thoroughly recommend the museum to anyone who has ever seen any of the three, main, Jacques Tati films. He is, unquestionably, one of the finest visual comedy actors of all time, easily up there with Chaplin, Keaton, et al.

The town itself is a small, lovely, unspoiled rural French town, complete with a free campervan park in the town square.

Now, if only there was also a museum dedicated to Fernandel!
