Despite at the risk of feeling a bit touristy, this place is well worth the visit. Expansive zoo where you can self guide yourself around a whole range of interesting animals, including some engaging shows and opportunities to get even closer to the wildlife through the Animal Encounters option. Steve Irwin's legacy is omnipresent, and all of the different sections... More

The place seemed to be more about the Irwins with some touch of zoo. Despite its huge territory, many exhibitions had no or little animals to show (Asia, for example). Entering a zoo, called the 'Australia Zoo', we surely expected to be diving into atmosphere of fascinating animal encounters, breathtaking displays and exhibitions, an embarrassment of riches, after all! That... More

make sure you wear comfy shoes and mozzie spray! I was bitten to pieces! Bird show before croc show is awesome, you need a whole day there for sure.

Went on a particularly hot day so that's never great when walking around a 100 acre park! They do have little sprinkler stations dotted here and there which were a life saver! The enclosures are so clean and spacious and the animals look very content and happy so that's good for a zoo! But we found we were just a... More

This place is amazing. The park has amazing animals, the grounds are immaculate and very well taken care of, the staff seem to be happy and enjoy coming to work and we loved the lizards that dart in and around you. Fabulous!

We had a great day here. It's pretty big so you can easily spend half the day here. All the enclosures were suitable for the animals inside, and they all looked happy and content. I particularly enjoyed the walk through kangaroo enclosure where you could hand feed them. I didn't see anyone do anything unkind to them but I still... More

The Australia Zoo is one of the must visits in Queensland. The park has plenty of native australian animals with sections for animals from around the world. The bird and croc show was the highlight of our trip. If you want to use your time efficiently and minimize walking, I suggest taking the cart from the entrance to Africa section... More

I got the Greyhound bus from Brisbane which arrived at opening time and picked up at closing, so I got a full day in the zoo! There are many interactive exhibits including being able to feed kangaroos and wallabies and pet koalas. Bindi's Island also has ring tailed lemurs free and swinging through the trees! The talks were all interesting... More

...however, given the limited budget the zoo is working to, the employees do the best they can. It has potential, but like all businesses, needs someone to invest in the potential...unlike some of the other like attractions in Queensland, this one seems to struggle along, which is a shame.....for the animals as well as the hard working staff. Go and... More
