It's a small cemetary but a very serene one. It makes you stand still about all the sacrifices that had been made. You can sit on a bench in a little chapel and read about the history of it.

Travelled to Geel war cemetery to place Mother in Law's ashes with her late husband, a war casualty from 1944. As always with these sites, they are kept in pristine order by CWGC and I hope that always will be.

Small, well kept and close to the centre. So many buried in a town as small as Geel. Sadly, there are cemeteries like this all over Europe.

Eén grafsteen zegt: 'Private S. Gatward Age 35: 'To all the world he was one. But to us he was all the world. Wife baby and family.' Dat zegt genoeg. Ook na bijna 75 jaar.
