The palace is very beautiful. Barocco style, massively decorated all over. It's impressive size for a small city like Bruhl. Big enough parking and railway station close by. The gardens are worth a long walk. Look for the "Secret garden" behind the hedges side by...More

It's a bit unfair to really compare, I know, but Palaces of wealthy muckety-mucks are difficult to not stack rank in the mind’s eye. And while it does not reach the grandeur of Versailles or intimate Rococo style of Palace Sanssouci, Schlösser Brühl (Augustusburg /Falkenlust)...More

The staircase is all in plaster made to look like marble. It is beautiful. Other than that the place is just like any other old, nicely appointed castle. The palace is pretty, but once you are on the tour you find out what little furniture...More

If touring in the Cologne/Bonn area a stop midway between, to visit the Schloss Augustusburg and the summer palace Falkenlust should be high on your agenda. Rightly Unesco heritage listed and in superb condition they offer an excelllent opportunity for a countryside visit. The Cologne/Bonn...More

The palace and the surrounding garden and forest are undoubtedly beautiful and you should come here when visiting the Koln/Bonn area. It is a rococo castle with a marvellous staircase inside. However, the castle can only be visited with a guided tour. It was probably...More

Despite publishing the hours of opening, we had the door shut in our face at midday and they did not reopen until 1330. The founds are impressive, especially by size, but the incorrect advertising of opening hours, in multiple locations and on multiple publications, is...More

This is an impressive Rococco palace, in good repair. Visitors can enter via a tour only, with audio guides included in the price, in languages other than German. Note that cash only is accepted for ticket sales, and that you will be asked for a...More

Decided to come after visiting Bonn. This castle is very accessible and offers nice scenery. Picturesque facade and spacious garden. Worth a stroll when you're in Bonn or Cologne.

We had a better experience than some of the reviews here but that was because we were part of a Viking River Cruise tour. They provided us with an English speaking guide who was very attentive and personable. As far as castle palaces go, it...More

Spent about 2 hours here i Bruehl, 20 klms south of Cologne and could have spent extra time, as we were rushed, especially in the magnificent castle. The staircase , made of marble and stucco, is breathtaking. The outside gardens and grounds set in its...More
