We first discovered Cerbère after I had seen photo of The Belvedere, and then visited every year at least twice. We have stayed in the hotel many times and loved the slightly ad-hoc nature of the rooms, the beautiful cinema and untouched since the 30s dining room. Fascinating, crumbling, semi-restored Art Deco hotel. Complete with original tiles, theatre, furniture, murals... like nothing I've ever seen. Knowledgable guide who lives on site.

We stayed at this hotel after meeting a lady who invited us to a show of creative interpretative dance. Her English was so good she brought us in to the owner of the hotel. The former Belvédère du Rayon Vert hotel, designed in the art déco style by the Perpignan architect, Léon Baille, was built between 1928 and 1932 and has the overall appearance of a ship.
