A really fun experience

My husband and i and our 5 year old son went to winter laser world in December 2019 whilst on holiday in Levi. It was great fun! A lot of attention to detail had been paid to the layout of the battle area with bunkers, trenches, and lots of places to hide. Its location in the forest is also really atmospheric. We played against another family and really enjoyed ourselves. It was very well organised as well.  Would definitely recommend to others.

An unbelievable evening!
Feb 2020
We came to Levi for snow, reindeer, huskies, snow-mobiles, northern lights, ski and sauna. I decided to book this activity as something a bit different. We had a very mixed group, including several who thought they wouldn’t enjoy a laser shooting game. However, EVERYBODY left wanting more. Our host, Viivi, has to be about the most enthusiastic person I have ever met. The venue and equipment were first class and put paintball and laser sites in the UK to shame!

Visited Levi with friends and decided to try this out last minute, BEST decision ever. The structures and storytelling were 10/10, and the snow and darkness made it so much more interesting. Can't wait to be back for their next projects!

Not a typical activity for the Northern reaches of Lapland but ironically the cold, snow and darkness made for a great experience. Well organised and presented, add a real multinational twist with participants from UK (myself and son), Netherlands and Ukraine. Early lead by the latter disappeared as UK/Netherlands alliance came into its own. Only downside was activity coming to an end, could have happily spent another few hours there.

The facility is superb and the briefing detailed and needs to be! We were a group of 8, 3 adults and 5 kids as well as the other participants and the session was adapted to incorporate all of the kids and this didn't take away any of the fun, competitiveness and scoring. It ended up being two and a bit hours of great fun for all of us and the scores ended up even...what a contest. I appreciate some of the comments of some of the reviews and if they have experienced safety issues this may have been improved as, although a risky environment by its title, unnecessary ice would be a concern, it was -8 and we had no issues. I would thoroughly recommend this if you want an adrenaline filled active excursion which is great fun. The host is direct and the briefing is extensive but if you look at the risk of this vs a trampoline park where there is 15 minute briefing every time you go, plus the pricey equipment needing to be cared for I sort of get it.

Added bonus we saw the lights starting to dance as we came out....magical!

Thanks to Viivi for the unexpected lift home!

First the positives. It was great they picked us up and dropped off again in Levi, the location was great with snow, trees and open fires. Lovely. Just a few big things that let them down that everyone in the party agreed with (2 adults 2 teenage boys who lets face it live for this kind of thing and have done it elsewhere lots) We were “lectured” for 45min with ever increasingly quick complicated instructions, all in English. Including an Info-mercial video about their plans for next phase building. (Why why?) There was a Finnish family who sat quietly though the whole thing and their were quite tearful at the end. No lights to see the maps and we were allowed to turn maps on the table to look at them or bring them near the one solitary dim light. When the Dad said his kids didn’t speak English at that speed she briefly gave them a Finnish version but just reflected her attitude that she expected us all to follow her and wasn’t prepared to modify her usual way of doing things! Was weird “don’t turn map to look at it”, “don’t put gloves on table”. Was borderline OCD and rules for no reason. Next star lost was gaming time - Despite advertised as a 2h session we had only 36min of gaming - for £200! The 5min games were too short and half the time was spent getting around the dangerous ice covered ground. You just get started and it was over. Very frustrating. Final star lost was for safety. We were ran into a hut and I went flying as the wooden floor was covered in ice. Leader turned round and said “yeh thats what happens when water gets cold”. Ha. Very funny. For the ice covered buildings and steps floors could have been gritted, mats could have been put down, so they lost a star for safety. As it took 2min to walk to the starting base then 2min back you lost too much time in a 5min game unless you ran and they’re v lucky they’ve only had 1 broken ankle. My advice to them would be simplify and shorten instructions, lengthen games (have fewer but longer?) and grit the ice covered floors!!!

Hey and thank you for coming and your review! 😘 So sorry to hear about your bad experience! English is the common language that we speak. If someone cannot understand, they should let us know. I asked many times that did everyone else can we know? I also said in the beginning to the finnish family that help the kids to keep up during the instructions and ask if you don't understand something or speed is too quick. They asked later on some things they didn't got perfectly and i told. No problem. We sell full experiences, not game time and this is a game world mainly for adults (kids only allowed with their parents who can help thrm out) so we expect also adult behaving and understanding but trying to keep still the games interesting for everyone. We don't provide only laser games, we concentrate on strategies and team work. Many things to know about the guns and safety before hand, so that's why it takes time for the preefing as well (cause of it we don't have many accidents). You're absolutely right, I would like to talk also less and play more, but unfortunately this is not possible in our concept and we will never be this mass production 30-60min "shooting like headless chickens laser flop for kids b-days". Speed in instructions is quick that it wouldn't take that long and rest you will get during the first games. Marketing part is taking 2min. that our customers knows what's coming up for next season. And depending on the snow situation, normally no-one cannot run in the snow for too long. We had those 10-15min on our first season, and those were just too long. 5-7min has been settled the best. But yeah of course, if you're just wondering around and hiding, you lose the game and that was also infoed. There are carpets on the wooden floors, but beton floors can be slippy if you have snow on it. Everywhere is slippy when there's snow and you came to Winter Laser World. I asked from my trainee about the sentence "yeh thats what happens when water gets cold" and no-one has said that. I told once, that "what's out the beton floors, they can be slippery if there's snow". So yes, we're really caring about the safetyness all the time and only 1 broken ankle in 6 years is pretty well... lucky? I don't think so. Lights are dark inside, cause your eyes has to get used to the darkness and all extra stuff on the table will block the light from the maps. You had the maps in the home bases as well and that 2 min. always before the games to look at it with your whole team. Again, so sorry your bad experience and that it wasn't your thing, even we really try, we cannot please always all. This week has been full slotted (hundreds of people), so some bad experiences coming for sure as well. Someone is angry cause they lost and some one is angry cause of the lack of games. That's how it unfortunately goes 😔 We have tried our best to create a nice place with the place we have. In Arcandia on next season, many things will change.. So welcome back and happy New Year! 😘😘 -Viivi
