Love Levi as a ski resort, lift passes and ski hire are a fraction of the cost of the traditional European resorts, decent size ski are, good infrastructure, plenty of restaurants/bars and toilets dotted over the mountain. Well groomed pistes and guaranteed snow. No queues and generally quiet.

Early in the season a lot of the slopes aren’t open though because they have no floodlights and there’s not enough daylight, so after a few days you do find yourself on the same slopes over and over again, and getting back to zero point is horrible as the only way is on a horrible flat green where you end up poking/walking half of it, or you have to catch the bus (which costs €4 a day!) which is why it gets 4 stars not 5z

Can’t comment on apre ski, I’m usually too tired to doing anything but have dinner and then go to bed.

Like all Nordic resorts it’s not cheap for food or drink, but you can get half board at hotels even if you are staying in cabins.

A very nice ski resort in Lapland. Ski pass prices are cheaper than France, Italy, Austria and on par with some other European resorts which offer much less ski runs and lifts. We visited during the Finnish school holiday season, but experienced no crowds in the Front or West slopes, only South slopes were a bit more full, though waiting still wasn't long - nothing compared to our ski lifts. Most of the slopes are red courses (intermediate) with some blue/beginner (south slopes) and a couple of black (World Cup slopes). No problem with snow, plenty of it up there, night skiing as well possible. All in all, we had two great, full days of skiing.

In autumn the experience is totally different but climbing the cable car and seeing the views from above is very worth it. Upstairs you can take a very nice walk with 360 views. Downstairs is a buffet restaurant and upstairs a small cafe.

We booked private ski lessons for a family of 3 beginners at South Point. The lesson was 1.5 hours and I didn’t think it was that good. Our child has had ski lessons in a few other ski resorts, always with international teachers, always very warm. The teacher we had here was not warm at all. I understand there are some cultural differences at play but for a young child to enjoy something there does need to be some level of warmth and friendliness from the teacher for the child to be comfortable.

Leevilandia was a nice way to warm up and take a break and I appreciated that it was right there though I didn’t love that the kids are playing underneath an out of service gondola.

All in all this was a disappointment and we would not come back. We would come back to Levi but not for ski lessons.

Went in December 2024 and the experience is a total scam.

Trust me, don't go there and just go to the Alps instead. You'll end up spending much less money and getting much more in return.

Levi claims that there are several slopes "open", but you cannot get to the slopes because the lifts are closed and you're not allowed to walk to the slopes either. They completely misrepresent the extent of the runs that are open and then just tell you there's nothing they can do about it when you complain.

The lift pass is more expensive than in the Alps (around 200e for 4 days) and the lift pass doesn't include ski rental (around 120e for 4 days), the fee for the bus to the other slopes (which you need to use all the time, because the connecting slopes are closed - around 10e for 4 days), fee for the physical lift card (around 10e), or the fee for leaving your skis at the ski rental shop over night (50e for 4 days).

All in all, you'll end up paying way more than you do at the Alps for an experience that is around 5-10% of the experience that the Alps offer.

There are literally no piste maps or signs anywhere (probably to prevent people realising that the vast majority of the slopes are actually closed even though they are marketed as being open).

There was moderate wind and Levi decided to close half of the few lifts that were actually open meaning that the skiing was then limited to 2 reds and 1 green for the whole resort.

Levi also marks several of the runs as separate runs to give you the illusion that there are more slopes than there actually are. The front slopes are max 2 slopes (one of which is always reserved for slalem training), but they're marketed as 4 separate runs.

The ski bus isn't a real ski bus and the routes are super confusing to understand even for Finnish people. On top of that, there are no signs of where you are and the drivers don't say anything so you'll end up missing a lot of the stops because you have no idea where you are and where you should be getting off.

Staff are just straight up lazy and rude and do not care about the customers' experience at all.

Despite full ski pass price exactly 3 of 27 gondolas were open! Also, only 3 of 44 slopes were open, of which 1 was completely closed and 1 was closed until noon for trainings of slalom skiers.

On the last day, they actually made the only available slope inaccessible because 5 snow cannons blew up yellow damp snow!

The only good thing was the long opening hours from 10am to 7pm.

But how to charge the full price for such a range of slopes is not in my head.

This is a wonderful resort: comfortable well-groomed slopes, many elevators, enough information - everything is at the highest level. The resort is great for families and beginners.
But…
During the return of the rental skis, the seller said that the surface of the skis was scratched and demanded a fee in the amount of a third of the rental price. I am an elderly man, I skied very carefully and only on the snow, I took not the skis into the city and could not scratch them in any way. It became clear why, when issuing, the seller suggested that I make sure that the surface of the skis was intact: it means that the sellers know in advance that scratches will be visible on the surface, which are hidden by grinding before issuing. It looks like the store has found a way to generate extra income.
It is a pity that a good impression was spoiled.

Was impressed with the slopes, and also the Levi ski app which was very good.
Majority of our stay the gondola wasn't running so we got the bus to the south slope which was free there but had to pay coming back, the first time we did this I tried to buy the ticket for €3 for the day but was told its ok the bus is free, when we tried to return to Zero point the bus driver was very aggressive insisting we payoff the return which was €4 for a single journey. When we questioned this the next day the lady apologised and said that as there is a route over the top (although I presume the reason the gondola was off was because the visibility was none existence which we found out one day) back it wasn't free on our return so she allowed me to purchase the €3 day pass. On our return another couple were having the same conversation with a different bus driver so it seems a common occurrence and the sceptic in me thinks they must make a good amount by shutting the gondola down and getting the people to the south slope to pay €4 to return.

Hi, thank you for your review! We are happy to hear you enjoyed our slopes and Levi Resort App! We are sorry to hear you were not 100% satisfied with us, and that the use of the Ski bus has been unclear. Basically, there is a charge for using the ski bus, so you have done the right thing by trying to buy a ticket. Our customer service staff must have meant well when told you that you do not need a ticket at that moment. If the lifts have had to be closed, for example, due to wind so that you cannot ski to the other side of the center, then you can use the ski bus free of charge to the next stop, from where you can continue your journey by skiing. Immediately after the lifts are opened, the ski buses are paid as usual according to the normal price list. According to the price list, the ski bus sells only one-way tickets (4€), and from the ski pass office, it's possible to buy a 1-day area ticket for 4 euros or with a valid ski lift pass for 3 euros. As a ski resort, we naturally want to offer our customers the best possible skiing experience, so we will open the lifts as soon as possible, and situations can sometimes change very quickly. Thank you for your feedback, we will use this to improve our services further. Hope to see you here again! With regards, Ella / Levi Ski Resort

From mutliple starting points you can ski to every other point, but you have to plan how to come back. There are signs. There is also a bus that serves all starting points. Be prepared to cold temperatures and wind. I put one point less because it is not possible to give back the keycard and to receive back the "deposit". This is against common law in Europe.

Wonderful winter wonderland, really unspoilt, lots of skiing, and winter sports tied to local cultures. Friendly populace, English spoken everywhere, mountain was safe if cold at -20C. Sirkka village is at the foot of the ski slopes and walkable end to end in 20 minutes but bustles regardless. Taxis readily available to the local Elf village and we even met Father Christmas despite being early January. And in its white coat and twilight the countryside is breathtakingly beautiful and eerie. Lots to do, slightly expensive for UK travellers but less so if you were from Switzerland. We’ve had a great time just doing the usual tourist trail, night horse ride, skidoos, snow shoeing, etc. but we’d come back for the skiing.
