This was such a fabulous afternoon and the team at Tundra Huskies are so friendly and helpful. Great safety briefing and it looks so festive and welcoming.
We are a family of 4 with an 8 year old and a 5 year old and they asked us if we minded the kids going in a sled with a guide as they didn’t think they would able to fit us all in one sled (Daddy drove). We said we didn’t as didn’t want to cause a fuss and if it wasn’t so cold, I don’t think it would have been a problem for the kids. However, it was -27 and when we got off at the end of the ride - both my kids were hysterical because they were so cold and because Mummy wasn’t with them (quite what I could have done to warm them up I don’t know 🤣 but they just wanted Mummy’
We rushed to the cabin to warm up but the kids just couldn’t get warm although they did enjoy the sausages .
The oldest went off to see the Reindeer and the dogs but the youngest was too cold so we stayed in the cabin.
The weather can’t be controlled and what was lovely is that Tundra emailed us yesterday to warn us the weather was going to freezing and that we could have rearranged or cancelled with a full refund which was really lovely of them. We chose to continue as the kids were so excited. So a wonderful company , wonderful staff but think twice about going if the weather is going to over -20 . (We had three layers on, hand warmers, balaclava’s, scarves, hats, two pairs of socks on each etc) . Thank you though Tundra as the adults had the best time and the shuttle service was brilliant 🧑🎄

Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish! We had a safety briefing beforehand and then spilt into 2 groups. One group did the husky ride and the other fed the reindeer. We then swapped. We couldn’t go on the lake unfortunately as there had been a heavy snow fall the night before so it was deemed as unsafe. We were happy with this as the safety of the animals and customers was obviously important to them. The husky ride was indescribable! We went through beautiful snowy forests and the huskies obviously enjoyed themselves too! After the ride we had a grilled sausage and berry juice in the kota, then we got to pet the huskies and ask questions. The surroundings are beautiful and the huskies are obviously very well looked after, 80 in total! I would recommend this trip, and if I had the chance to come again I would definitely love to go on a longer ride!

A truly unique experience. The atmosphere was incredibly familiar and welcoming and the owners of the farm were very friendly. It is obvious that great care is taken here for the animals.
The experience was also special because of the small group size. There was enough time to spend with the huskies and also feed the reindeer.
Overall, our visit to the husky farm was an unforgettable experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for a warm and authentic experience in nature.

This was honestly the highlight of our whole holiday. The staff at Tundra Huskies are fantastic and you can see that they really care about the Huskies. We booked the 2 - 4 slot and it was just getting dark but the scenery was beautiful and it was just the right amount of time. My kids loved grilling the sausages on the open fire and are still talking about it now that we are home :)
I can't recommend this enough!

My partner and I loved our 5km husky ride. The guides were helpful and the huskies were well looked after. We loved that we could pay and meet them after our ride. The whole experience felt very magical and unrushed, highly recommend

This was a great husky experience. My husband and I loved experiencing mushing. The kids were very cold due to extreme weather temperatures but Tundra were very good at keeping us moving, plenty of time in the Kota to warm up and they had given the option of cancelling had we wished to due to temperatures. So glad we went ahead!

Booked huskies with tundra & so glad I did! Couldn't fault these guys at all! From the moment we were picked up to the moment we were crop off we were made to feel very welcomed and the staff were so friendly! I had put in a request that I didn't want to drive a sleigh but my husband did and this was no trouble at all for them! This was one of the best experiences me and my family will ever have and thank tundra huskies for making this happen! The day was not rushed at all, we did the Safari, warmed up by the fire with hot juice and sausages and then got to spend time with the huskies, not at any point were we made to feel rushed or not cared for!
Highly recommend to booked your husky rides here!
And just a shout out to our guide who picked us up and dropped us off, didn't catch his name, young lad, he mentioned he hadn't been with the company long, 7 weeks I think he said, lovely lad, very Friendly thank you!!

It was excellently organized.
We were able to change the time and route the evening before.
After a short briefing, the trip began. The dogs were excited but very well trained.
The trip itself was an incredibly unique feeling of becoming one with the sleigh, the animals and nature.
Afterwards, we were able to warm up with a snack and tea before we were allowed to go back to the animals to take photos with the dogs, who like to be stroked.
We received photos of the event free of charge by email afterwards. The team was super professional and always friendly. We would be happy to do it again anytime.

Everything about this trip was just amazing - and a great way to start our holiday. We were met at the gate and taken through the snowy woods, where we were briefed by great staff. A visit to meet the reindeer and a cosy wait in the kota, before our wonderful ride through the forest and over a lake with the huskies. It was such fun, with a stop half way to swap over. Into the kota to cook sausages over the open fire, with warm berry juice, then a chance to pet the dogs. Just perfect. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable too, answering our many questions. We will be back, choosing a longer trip next time.

Hello. I am just about to book to visit Lapland in December for my 6 year old, wife and me. We can’t make our mind up whether to go to Levi or Rovaniemi. The husky safari sounds great but would it be suitable for a 6 year old, who’s not used to snow and such cold temperatures?
Written 23 February 2020
Hi Robert - we were in Lapland in December and visited both - we took the overnight Santa train from Helsinki, spent a few days in Rovaniemi (Santa Claus Village) and then caught the bus (couple of hours) to Levi (great skiing and just beautiful). We loved both places - if you have time, visit both!
Our 6 year old son went on the Tundra huski safari in Levi and we all loved it - it was the most memorable experience of our entire holiday. We also tried snowmobiling and a reindeer sleigh on our holiday which was great fun. We're from Melbourne and not used to cold weather and we were fine, just have the right gear (esp thermals, good boots, gloves and balaclava) and take a shorter husky ride! Have a great trip, Finland was absolutely beautiful!

Hi how many people can go on each sleigh please? we would be a family of 4 (1 adult and 3 children) or 6 (2 adults and 4 children)
Also would a 12 month old, wrapped up very very warm be able to go?
Written 28 October 2018
Hey! It depends how tall the children are. Normally the adult can drive the sledge and the 3 children can sit in the front. And you can get warm clothing and blankets.

5 km Husky safari really isn't far enough, if you LOVE dogs. It is an amazing experience and you'd be much better off going for longer trip. Wrap up warm.
The reindeer farm was a trip we did as part of a snowmobiling adventure, we did a sleigh ride with two reindeer whilst others in our group sat and had a coffee or something. We won!

Hi we are goi g to Levi this December and are booking our activities! We only have the option of a 2km and a 10km husky ride with tundra husky safaris we have 3 children aged 4-9 I see you left a review I was wondering as you had taken part in the activity previously you could give me your opinion on which option would be best! Ideally 5km would be perfect but not a possibility for our dates! Do you think the 10km would be too long cold for the young ones? Or 2km too short! Any advice would be great fully received! Also which Santa trip did you book? Thanks in advance Rebecca

I've emailed Tundra Huskies a few times but has not received any response. Is the company closed for the for the summer holidays? I really want to reserve a husky safari for my family but it is impossible to do so if they do not respond.

I don't know it but could be that they are closed.

Hi. We are an adventure & dog loving family of 2 adults & older teens. This is a once in a lifetime trip so cost is not important criteria but we want the best experience. Which tour? Thinking 10km / 15km lunch or maybe the 25km to the lakes. Thanks for your thoughts. Kim (Australia)
Written 5 August 2017
It is an amazing experience!
We did 5km which was fine as the dogs go faster but then it was over all too quickly. I would do 10km or 15km if I could choose again as my husband and I both wanted to mush the dogs so swapped over halfway. Longer distances are tempting but you need to be conscious of low temperatures, although you do have older teens so they should be okay, young children would probably not. We went in January but it wasn't too cold when we visited Tundra.
Perhaps read my review for more detail about the actual day, as the whole experience is wonderful if you love dogs and they go it very well. Also contact Tundra direct as they are very helpful and will be able to advise you best about the longer run.

We are going to Levi for 3 days on 31-Jan-17. Definately want to do this but not sure if Tundra Huskies only do certain distances on certain days? Is this the case? Also which is best 10km or 5km? Heard 10km can get cold but will 5km give us enough of an immersive experience?
Written 3 November 2016
I have just been today. they were great. we only managed to 5km due to last minute booking. but I would want to do more. so addictive.. would recommend emailing Tom direct.
You will love it.. also get to meet the huskies and part wolves dogs. as well as reindeer .

Do you practice ethical treatment of your Huskies? I am planning to book a group safari, but we want to only book with a company that practices ethical Husky farms.
