About
We organize guided snowmobile safaris in the Levi region. Ice fishing safaris can be arranged at early spring. We can include food services in our safaris according to the wishes of the customer. Snowmobile safaris can be combined with reindeer and husky rides. Thermal overall, boots, mittens and helmets are provided for the safari. We also rent out snowmobiles for experienced drivers. You get a map and instructions to experience the wilderness on your own. You are having a holiday in Lapland. To keep you warm on outdoor excursions, we also rent out thermal clothing (overall and boots) for arctic circumstances.

I was guiding a group in Lapland and we went for a snowmobile safari with Perhesafarit. I can highly recommend the Kätkä Fell tour! It was a highlight for many of my group members and frankly also for myself. :)

thank you for your good review. Around the Kätkä Fell is one of the most popular safari. There is very nice and cosy Cafe Hanhipirtti.

Booked through Ingram’s prior to holiday. Very good organised tour and takes the safety of customers very seriously. All the staff throughout the activity was excellent. You pass through various terrain and over two frozen lakes. Stop at halfway for hot drink and doughnuts all included in price, then repeat the route back to Levi. Excellent for beginners and casual users. Snowmobiles can be booked independently for the more experienced. Very enjoyable morning enjoying the frozen lakes and forests

A good tour but we’ve done snowmobiles a few times and weren’t expecting them to be restricted so much (30kph). I asked out of curiosity however and they said should you hire the snowmobile and not be on a safari then it wouldn’t be restricted.

Thank you for your review. Safety is the number one priority for our company and guides are responsible for the carrying out safari. If you have experience in snowmobiling it is possible to rent one on your own, without guide. We provide you a map and instruct you a good track to follow. This depends on the time you want to spend snowmobiling. Speed limit on the track is maximum 60 km/h and the areas limited slower than this are marked with the signs.

Our family of two adults and two kids (age 5 and 7), truly enjoyed our snowmobile trip on Jan 2nd 2022. We opted for the 30km ride, with a pitstop at a reindeer farm. At the reindeer farm, we had the chance to do a sledge ride, pulled by reindeers. That was a big hit for the kids. At the farm, we also got some hot beverages before driving back towards Levi.
The excellent guide had a heated pod connected to his snowmobile, where our kids sat during the ride. The pod was comfortable for the kids and heated in a way that they could sit without glows and so on.
My wife and I drove a snowmobile each. It was the first time for both of us, but with the initial guidance from the guide, we found it super easy and comfortable.
The overall experience lasted for about four hours.

Thank you for your review and it was nice to have you on our safari. I am very proud of our professional and friendly staff. So we do have a heated and covered pod, where the kids travel. It is safe and comfortable for them. Welcome to our safari again!

AVOID.
We were mis-sold this trip as a family snowmobile safari. The children’s track was not available and there was only one childrens skidoo which was not working.
My children were given the only option of a quick 2 minute ride each on an adult snowmobile around the car park!!!
In hindsight this was downright dangerous and should never have been allowed.
My daughter couldn’t handle the adult snowmobile and tipped it over whilst riding it narrowly avoiding a very serious accident.

Hey, unpleasant to hear that your trip did not go as it was planned. We want to be certain that you visted us, because we do not have childrens snowmobiles, track for those nor we afford safaris which includes these. For us safety is always priority and we require driving license from everyone who is going to drive snowmobile.

[FIN] Ensimmäinen kerta kelkkailemassa. Saatiin soittamalla räätälöity safari omalle porukalle kätkätunturin ympäri ja levin yli. Matkalla pysähdyttiin Sammuntuvalle kaakaolle. Kaikin puolin täydellinen palvelu varusteita ja opastusta myöten. Erityiskiitos Asko oppaalle!

I have been using these for my snowmobile trips for many years, first as part of Inghams tour but now independently. This year I did the Safari to Lainio solo and the Safari around the fell with my teenage son. Both trips as always were very well organised and pitched to the level of the riders. our guide Teijo was great very happy and very informative. Will be back for sure. Stay off the Alcohol too one of our trips all 5 of the riders were tested randomly by the police which is always good to see so don't take the risk. Great Fun

Hello Kevin, it is very lovely that you always come to visit and go to safaris with us :). I will also tell your greetings to Teijo. Yes we always ask our clients to show their driving licenses, and if it's necessary we do the alcogol test already at the safari house, to make sure that every driver has their license with them and they don't have any alcohol in blood. Usually there are polices on the tracks, and they might control the drivers. Welcome back to Levi next year (?) :D.

My family and I made a wonderful trip guided by Thomas who was our tourguide. Thomas is a very patient person and a man with humor. With the snowmobiles we made a really cool trip over the mountains which was very special. Compared to other companies the trip was way more fun and cheaper as well.

Thank you for your enquiry. It is very difficult to know yet if we can do snowmobile safaris on that period. It depends ice and snow situation on the snowmobile tracks. Normally we will start end of November or beginning of December.

I didn't book direct on the website but emailed them and they helped me choose the best safari and answered all my questions. I think they also responded to a more general question I had on TA.
They always replied quickly, so probably worth dropping them an email saying you're interested in a safari and then I'm sure they'll get you sorted out.

Hi, We're a couple visiting end Jan 2017. Which safari would you suggest? We like the look of Katka Fell to Hanhipirtti 45km but there is also one to Swanshore, 60km. What is a good distance to travel - we'll be sharing one skiddo. Also, do they run daily and if so, what times do you think are best to go?
