We got married here on the 16th December 2014, wow! where do I start? We booked our wedding through sun & snow weddings and Rue our wedding planner was amazing. The chapel is truly breath-taking, nothing can prepare you for the beauty and magic inside the snow chapel. It really was a dream come true for us, the best day of our lives. The lighting and carvings are out of this world the photographs we have capture all of the beauty. Truly recommend to anyone thinking of getting married here, it will create memories you will never forget.

I got married here on the 28th January 2014 and was completely blown away by how beautiful it is.

The ice carvings were amazing, and the whole place glittered from the snow.

When we first went in it took my breath away how beautiful it was, it is simply stunning. The chapel itself was gorgeous and I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of a winter wedding.

The location is also fantastic, close enough to Levi to not have to travel to far but it feels as if its in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by Lappish wildnerness. A truly magical place.

I will be back in Levi for my wedding anniversary and I am very excited about paying another visit to Luvattumaa to see how it looks next year!!

I had my doubts whether I could do this without an expensive wedding planner but Luvattumaa were easy to deal with direct and I found it fairly straightforward so if anyone needs help give me a yell!

Words cannot adequately express how wonderful our wedding was here. It's such a magical place and we were completely overawed. As were our guests who still maintain it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The ice, the silence, the carvings and yes the cold. The most beautiful emotional stunning wedding in a beautiful awe inspiring stunning place. not a single regret, I couldn't have bettered it. Photos don't do It justice, it's like a fairytale. It's a constant -10 inside however I was fine to have the service wearing just my wedding dress and snowboots but I did want my fur jacket back afterwards. We married at 4.30 in the dark. I arrived at the chapel by reindeer sleigh which was magnificent and organised for me by Luvattumaa. I took silk flowers although they can also organise flowers for you. The photographer they organised was wonderful. You can have drinks in the Ice bar with your guests, take music to walk down the aisle to (which was lit with candles). You can have your reception meal in their warm restaurant but you don't have to. We had its elsewhere. I would thoroughly recommend this venue whether it's just a look see visit while in Levi or for a wedding you will never forget that will exceed your wildest dreams. We are going back in January for our anniversary and to attend a wedding in the Ice Chapel I have helped wedding plan (someone who found me online) and we can't wait. I'm sure it will be very emotional! 😀

We did ski to this place from levi center. If you just want to hear about customer service, jump over the things about the cafe.

The cafes selection was very small and overpriced. There wast any lunch. The only salty thing was piece of chicken-feta pie and price was 5 euros. 5 euros doest maybe sounds bad, but the size of that pie was 1 of 20 on the hole pie. Two small coffees and two doughnut was 12 euros. Its okay in lapland, but water did cost 1 euro per glass. With coffee and doughnut paying of glass of water didnt feel fare collection. Place was nice, but where is the ambition on this entrepreneur. Some lunch would be nice, example some easy soup.

So about the customer service...after we where eating and drinking the over price water, we were going to the toilets before we did leave. A women and the owner did walk past us and the women yell at loud on very loud noise that "these toilets are only for the customers! Should i response on that in some way..." and watch me. She assume that I wast customer and was very rude to yell that. Have a little fait on the customers! The owner (man) did also say to my spuose that these are customer toilets... It was very rude, they didnt ask if we were on the cafe, wich we did, but they just assume we werent. These people shouldnt be at customer servise.

We were planning to go see the ice sculptures, but after that no way.

And yes we are from finland and have been many of these places and they were speaking also finnish so we did understant the situation right.

Great looking snowcastle with lights etc, bar and all, but at 15 Eur per person definitely in the expensive side for what lasts 15 minutes max to walk around.

5 adults €15 each & 1 child free to enter the ice gallery. What is on view is undoubtedly beautifully done but no one mentioned the fact that it is still being worked on and at least half of it is not open
Disappointed

Thank you about your feedback. The price was lower because there was one room closet being worked. This winter time was very bad to work with snow, because the weather was so raining. Hope that you had much to do in Levi and welcome back.

In the ice gallery there is a chapel made of ice, popular figures carved in snow/ice, an igloo and hotel rooms with beds made of ice. There is also a small cafe next to the ice gallery, where you can sing karaoke or dance. The entrance ticket to the ice galley is sold at the cafe. It is worth a short visit if you are in the area.

There is no public transportation to the place, so you need to come by car, by taxi or as part of an organized tour. Or by ski, of course. I was somewhat disappointed by the attitude of the staff, when I asked them to call for a taxi for me to get back to Levi, as I did not have my mobile phone with me. They charged me 3 euros for that service. I do not know if this is the norm in Finland, but I found it outrageous or at least rude, especially since I had already paid them for the entrance fee and for a drink and they could have made the phone call as a complimentary service.

I booked for myself an 5 others to stay at this hotel thinking it was a change and something different. We saw that it advertised a hot tub, sauna, ice fishing etc.so we arrived early in order to participate in these activities. When we got to the hotel we were rudely told that you has to book all of these (this was not mentioned on booking .com), so we asked for a transfer back to Levi as it offers a shuttle service, this again we were told we had to book in advance. We ended up paying for a taxi to and from Levi so we have something to do for the day seen as this hotel offered nothing! It costs us €60 in taxis to do this! We then came back to stay and found out that the deluxe room we paid for did not exist, we paid €120 for these rooms and did not get offered anything or any refund for this. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Luvattumaa ice gallery makes a good cross country skiing destination from Levi and has good facilities also for getting something to fill your stomack as well as visually inspiring ice gallery to visit. And even karaoke, which I am not sure I really would expect there nor need, but I saw some people really enjoying it;-) If the weather is not optimal you can do part of the trip with the support of the Levi ski buss (to stop 15) - just be aware of the 1 hour break in the schedules in the early afternoon...

I visited both Levi Ice Gallery (tour under Levi Tourist Info Centre) and Snow Village (Tour under Lapland Safaris), and I can tell you its very very similar in concept. Don't bother going to both. Choose this over the Snow Village. This has better and more elaborate ice sculptures than the snow village.

I booked Husky Safari to Levi Ice Gallery (EUR 169/pax) online here:
http://varaamo.levi.fi/shops/ext/(S(nbqnzmwobrmdk2xzjh3w5qec))/site/extras.aspx?begindate=1.1.2015&culture=en&TypeCodes=TV
(For this Husky Safari you get to drive, but goes slower with 6 huskys to a sled, vs the Levi Huskypark sled ride tour (EUR 58/pax) (another tour under Levi Tourist Info Centre) which you don't get to drive but goes faster with 10 huskys to a sled, if you have to choose one, i would recommend the Husky Safari since it was really fun driving the sled)
