Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sanganeb is so beautiful and unique. Expensive to get to but well worth it in my opinion. such a special view from the top of the lighthouse, and loads of fish and beautiful corals under the sea. I had an amazing day.

Very hard to get a tourist visa to Sudan, and there are few reliable vendors who can get you to this UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, but if you can you will be rewarded by 99% unspoiled and natural underwater life and scenery. Why 99% unspoiled? Glad you asked. The local staff at the park's lighthouse have unfortunately dumped quite a bit of fishing tackle and spare tires(???) off the end of the jetty, and visiting staff from the Sudan Ports Authority were observed throwing empty soda cans in the water. Don't let this spoil the view, and if you can haul up a little of the debris you will have done the place better service than the locals afford it. In addition to great wall dives with lots of pristine coral, also observed big eels, white-tip reef sharks, and lots of lion fish. Lots of other reef critters also abound as well. Do NOT/NOT book any excursions through the Italian Tourism Company Ltd (Khartoum-based HQ), and avoid using the Red Sea Resort as your supporting vendor if at all possible. ITC is getting a separate dose of my ire, and the Resort's dive equipment and boat maintenance is marginal at best. Resort interior appeared clean, but outdoor area around dive lockers and tank fill station was massively dirty, unkempt, corroded where it was most disconcerting, and swarming with 1000's of flies (like you almost had to cover your mouth to speak). Live aboard/dive aboard options are way better, and Italian Captain Jack gets high ratings. Do go, but do your homework when contracting for dive and lodging support.

We spent 36 hours on a boat trip which included spending the night moored next to this lighthouse. We visited 3 different sites for snorkelling. The coral was spectacular and the fish plentiful.

Sanganeb redefines what a LIVING REEF should look like. We went there last May and it was an absolute bliss!
You have to take a liveaboard to get there, but it is totally worth it! Big Potato Groupers, Barracudas, Sharks, Anthias in the millions, schools of jacks, excellent diving experinece. Would not recommend for an open water diver though due to depth and currents.
You can also take a tour up the lighthouse for a spectacular view. Be sure to buy a souvenir T-shirt from the lighthouse wardens. Don't negotiate much on the price as they have really limited incomes apart from these t-shirts

Breathtaking , clear water , amazing reef , coral and fish to see
The Light house is located on an island and you can swim and do snorkeling around as it's not deep at all .
For diving you need to sail a bit by boat away .
