Gallery style shop for artisans

Not a souvenir shop...whew. Great array of quilts, pottery, wood craft, jewelry, paintings, and some good knitting.

We enjoyed our visit to this shop on the way from Ingonish to Cheticamp. Functional and unique offerings and they have shipping.

The art and craft products were tastefully displayed and the prices were clearly marked. All the work is made locally. Shipping is also provided if needed.

This Cape Breton only Gallery has a wonderful selection of pottery and some work from other Cape Breton artisans - hand dyed silk scarves, quilts etc. Arts North is definitely on my "must see " list on the Cabot Trail. Please note that there are no public washrooms at this gallery

You will find here mostly chunky pottery (versus fine, delicate pottery). There are some quilts upstairs and some other interesting unique local arts and crafts. I purchased a lovely wool felt hat and a unique woolen scarf.

They had interesting quality items, however I have to agree it was QUITE pricey. I feel its important to support local artists and businesses, so I really wish there had been a few more less expensive items to choose from.

What a collection of quilts and pottery. We have seen many quilts as my wife is an avid quilter but nothing like this in a rather remote small sized shop. The art work was displayed on the walls, over railings and the shelves were loaded with some of the most beautiful marine themed pottery pieces you could imagine. We would... More

I first went to Arts North when I was a student in 1999. I couldn't afford anything then but I couldn't afford much "extra" anywhere at that time. I went back in 2007, when out of student debt, and purchased a tea pot and a set of 4 mugs and a couple "beer mugs" which are used by me for... More
