The grounds of the Nanhua Buddist temple are very calming and kept clean and neat. A little more English on descriptions of sites would be helpful for English speaking tourists as myself.

It is easy to visit Nanhua buddhist temple from Shaoguan. Taxi takes about 20-30 minutes. The temple is worth visiting.

Home of the legendary 6th Zen Patriarch Hui Neng of China. He is definately at the top with the likes of Confucius, Mencius, Lao Zi, Bodhidharma and many more.
