A tan solo 45 minutos del nuevo aeropuerto de Quito, a 50 kilometros de distancia (31 millas) en un recorrido lleno de hermosos y pintorescos paisajes andinos se encuentra el Spa, Resort y Centro de Convenciones "Termas de Papallacta".

Este complejo turistico de aguas termales esta ubicado en la llamada, "Ruta de la Canela", la misma que el conquistador Francisco de Orellana tomo en 1542, cuando cruzo la Cordillera Andina y que inesperadamente le llevo al descubrimiento del Rio Amazonas.

Papallacta es la puerta de entrada a la Amazonia Ecuatoriana. Tiene una temperatura diurna promedio ambiental de 14 o C (57 o F).

We used a tour company to take us here for a day trip from Quito. We had our 6 year old with us and spent a very memorable few hours hiking around the property and enjoying a very relaxing soak. This is a great thermal pool complex & a lovely way to spend a few hours and what a gorgeous view! Weekday visit was very quiet which made for easy flitting in and out of the pools. $8.5 to use all the public pools, simple clean change rooms and $0.5 for a locker. This is our second trip to Termas of Papallacta. It just 1 1/2 hours from Quito. This time we just had the one-day experience of the five spa pools. I have read about this hot springs spa in a spa magazine in 2004. I finally made it and it exceeded my expectations! Location is spectacular with mountains surrounding the resort. Did a day tour from Quito that included a hike and a few hours at the hot springs. The hot springs are very relaxing with many pools ranging from very hot to very cold. Driving back from the rain forest, our bus (on a Gate 1 tour) stopped here for a lunch and a soak. Large, clean, spacious, changing room. Multiple pools at different temps. Very relaxing. I went with family and friends. The scenery is fantastic and the hot springs and pools are just what the body needs.
