Interesting! This is the main church in Villa de Leyva. The town is actually quite beautiful. The church is relatively simple. It has the burial site of Ms. Antonio Nariño is one of the walls. It is a short visit unless you attend the service. There is no entrance fee. It is one of the places that you should visit to give you an idea on the historical aspects of this lovely town.

One of the colonial styled buildings on Plaza Mayor. Nice architecture but simple furnishing inside the church. Nothing special.

In a prominent position at the top of the piazza, the church blends in with the neighbouring buildings in the piazza. By central and south American standards, the interior is relatively simple and restrained. A welcome change from some of the more overwhelming interiors elsewhere.

Not much to see and do unless you go to a church service. Snap your selfie, check out the inside front of the church, then move on.

While this church is situated on a great plaza (Plaza Mayor), the church itself is extremely plain. Quite boring actually. You can take a peak inside, but you won't find much.

Form the outside it may not look spectacular but the location from this church and the inside make it really beautiful.
At night lots of people are sitting in front of the church and we had the luck to see two marriages, super nice!!!

This is a nice, historic church and the iconic building on the Plaza Mayor. It is a simple, traditional Spanish church, simple but very nice inside and out. It has the grave of Colombian national hero Nariño inside (his museum is just down the street).

Very nice church on the main square. The interior is impressive and worth a visit. Check out a service or a wedding.

The old church is one of the main features of the cobblestone square. The interior is gold decor and well worth a visit!

We’ve been in many churches as we’ve traveled in Colombia and Italy and this one was quite a beautiful one. The gold decor is quite old and very historic. It’s definitely worth a stop by and is a nice way to become familiar with the catholic background of Colombia. The building, while seemingly plain with its white walls, is actually legally kept that way to stay authentic to Colonial times, a nice touch of care from the country!
