What a peaceful place. I was speechless. It is a very impressive place to remember the bravery of the soldiers who helped to free my country named France. This is definitely the place to visit in Normandy. I recommend doing the free guided tour, given...More

Visiting historical places in Normandy, you shouldn't miss this one. All crosses are in line, regardless of in which angel or direction you look. And it gives a thought to the men that saved Europe!

If you're going to see only one thing (unthinkable) this would be my pick. You just can't miss it. Almost 10,000 American graves from all over Normandy. It's moving to say the least. The overlook towards the beach is impressive in its own right, but...More

This place is huge. There are nearly ten thousand graves here. A very good memorial with excellent maps of the invasion. Be prepared for a long walk.

The American Cemetery is so peaceful and moving. It's every bit as well done as is Arlington and has much the same feel. The Visitor's Center is done very well with a courtyard and huge map of the invasion and it's forces as well as...More

I was lucky enough to be there on a sunny day with no crowds and the experience is overwhelming. Move quickly through the visitor center yet don't miss it before heading to the cemetery proper. It's a both aesthetically admirable and sentimentally touching place.

This was such an amazing site to visit. Despite the crowds, people were very respectful of the place and those buried there.

Another note to keep in mind, they are very strict with the closing time. So if you are on one end and it's close to the time they close, then make your way back.
