Off the main tourist trail Nardò is a hidden gem. It is a medieval city with lots of historical buildings a castle and many churches. The main square is Nardò’s sitting room and s great place to sit and watch the world go by.

Nardo's treasures can be seen in a morning or afternon, clustered as they are in the Centro Historico. From the C11th to the late 18th century, this agricultural centre is a feast of tributes to the saints. If you are bored by churches this is...More

The small center city is car-free. We parked and walked to the central square with several interesting buildings and fountains. It was around 18.00 hours and from all corners elderly people gathered to discuss on their benches. It is very nice to stay there a...More

We spent quite a bit of time here, the old part of the town is really interesting to wander round. There are some lovely cafe's/bars around and at night it really comes alive in the old square.

We stayed in Nardo as we were visiting relations. Nardo is out of the way but certainly not to be missed. Driving is easy to get here but work out where you can park. If you get into the old town the 'streets' are very...More

Wonderful town full of friendly people and nice old buildings. Great base for visiting nearby beaches. Not everyone speaks English, but if that means the tour buses stay away, that's fine with me.

Gracie per la tua risposta. Abbiamo viaggiati in Italia durante maggio. Abbiamo usati il treno per andare dal Lecce a Nardò Città stazione e andati a piedi a Centro Storico. Ci piace Nardò, Puglia e il Salento!

Brindisi i believe is the nearest airport and beach-wise, they are everywhere! Porto Cesareo have loads of nice spots so does Gallipolli (outside the city).
