About
The longest lavatunnel i all of Europe, with more than 18 km now explored. A vulcanic tunnel that now has caused scientific interest, because of the cocroach born without eyes. An absoultely amazing experience to get a guided tour into this underground vulcanic world. Highly recommended for those who want to experience something different in this beautiful island.

Great trip with awesome guide
Sep 2021 • Couples
We visited the cueva yesterday. Our guide was Jochen and we did the trip with a German group. We were very fascinated by the cave system and it's formation centuries ago. During this tour you will feel very attached to nature itself and gain an experience about the complexity and the miracles this island provides to you. We would recommend this trip to everybody visiting this Island.

Cueva del Viento - Great Experience
Jun 2021 • Solo
Cueva del Viento is a must do. Our guide was very experienced. He spoke English, Spanish and Dutch. He explained everything from the moment we started the climb for the cave and inside the cave. This cave is made from lava from volcano. Very impressive. For €20 for three hours, can’t go wrong with this. I am glad I did it and I highly recommend it. A word of caution, the 700 meters walk to get to the cave is a bit steep; if your health is not that good, I would refrain from doing it.

Francisco was a great cave guide.
Jun 2021 • Solo
Great tour of the cave. Francisco was patient and made me feel safe throughout. He was very knowledgeable about the cave itself as well as other lava caves throughout the world. The hike up to the cave is not for the faint of heart. Make sure to wear hiking shoes/boots - the cave floor is very spiky.

Fascinating journey underground.

Don't forget to book ahead for your visit. You will need substantial, closed-toe footwear for this attraction. This is a fascinating look at the underground features from the volcanic activities that formed this island. Very interesting information centre.

We had a great experience today with our lady guide Augustina (10/10!). Lava tunnels is something you "must do" when visiting Canary islands. Simple, educating, fun!

Amazing experience!
Feb 2020
The tour was very well planned - we were first told the story about different types of lava and how the lava tubes are formed and then we were taken on a tour around an actual lava tube. It was really great to be able to see different fenomena that we were initially told about. The guide was friendly and very enthusiastic. She gave us a lot of information, but at the same time made sure that everything was very clear and repeated enough times so that we are able to memorize the most important parts.

All in all, a great experience that introduced us into the volcanic world!

Interesting and educational tour
Feb 2020
We took the tour with our son and daughter-in-law. It was interesting and offered detailed information about the formation of lava tubes, along with stories from the region. Our tour guide on the American tour was excellent -- Frank was the American version of his name. He certainly did his job well, and was fun to listen to.

Excellent learning experience!

Two hour tour with very knowledgeable guides. Our guide Yohan made our tour experience very interesting with clear explanations of how volcanoes and lava tubes are formed and encouraged questions from the group. Groups are small only 14 or 16 in each, our tour was in English but they also do tours in many other languages. Connie the friendly young woman at the reception that took our reservation was very helpful and gave us much useful information about the area.

Lava is more than lava...
Feb 2020
Our first visit could not take place because we had not made a reservation and we did not worn the right footwear and clothing. Given the photos on site, a second attempt on another day for a visit was justified.
Our Dutch guide, Mauk, fascinated us for more than two hours in a very entertaining and sympathetic way with his explanation and underground tour. From that day on, the lava we encountered on the island was no longer just lava: pahoehoe, ropy lava, block lava, Aa lava (ough ough!). It was an impressive visit.

Experience

The guide and the company turned this lava tunnel into a great experience, would definitely recommend to anyone, who can normally walk a bit uphill. Also great for families. Parking space practically in front of the office.
