...some money here for items I now enjoy having. The store offers a vast choice and they also take special orders and ship to wherever. Thank you Matteo, I am excited to see your final version of the ceramic induction smartphone charger :-)

So thankful they do not siesta!! Matteo and his mom are so genuine, helpful, funny and creative people. We took a chance and stopped by in between our visit from Pisa to Florence, so glad we did, one of our favorite things in Italy. I can't wait for my own custom plate to arrive. Well worth the trip. …

We didn't take the pottery class but I read about the store and wanted to see it. I messaged Matteo and he responded right away that they would be open (it was January so I wasn't sure about hours etc.). My children ages 10 and 12 were with me and I thought they would enjoy a tour but I didn't plan it very well and the factory was closing as we got there. Matteo offered a tour if we could wait around but it didn't work out for us - next time for sure! Matteo's mom set my kids up with clay and set them to work creating while I shopped - they loved it!! Such a nice gesture. Shes even going to glaze and fire their creations and include them with the pottery I ordered! A true artisan shop and experience, and I definitely recommend making this part of your Tuscany trip!…

A hands on lesson for me and my husband from the great ceramicist, Salvatore Mirenda, in the showroom of dazzling majolica produced by him and artisans in their factory just outside town. It was our third visit, but our first experience with clay and wheel. As Salvatore's hands guided our own to shape the spinning mound of clay, his welcoming family looked on: Matteo, Marketing Director and ebullient son; Betty, his charming wife and shop manager; and Marco, his second son, who joins Matteo in supervising production You'll find a modern, world-class ceramics museum only three streets from the shop, where some of Salvatore's work is represented, along with majolica spanning five centuries-Montelupo supplied all manner of majolica ware to the Medici dynasty in Florence. To Date, we've purchased a number of pieces from the Mirendas; two serving platters, a plate, decorated roof tile, trivet sized wall tiles, and this year, a bowl custom made to our order, now displayed in our modest Tuscan-themed kitchen. The pieces we don't carry home came to us quickly by mail in perfect condition.…

I phoned a few times to tell them that I would be arriving by car and inquire if in the aftermath of the Christmas week that the store would be open. Elisabetta, the owner, assured me that they would be open. And they were. Upon arrival, I am met by Elisabetta and her son Matteo whose eyes grew wider and their smiles peaked when I entered with my partner. They asked us the right questions, showed us the creations both live and on the computer that we would consider. They will custom any size, color, shape. It was a pleasure to work with them both. We ordered a 60 cm. round plate for over our fireplace. It will be created, fired, painted and glazed by expert craftspeople in the next few weeks. Wow! What great service! Would I visit and buy from them again? Yes and with no hesitations. Would I recommend them to others? Yes of course!…
