The museum is in two parts.
The first is to the men of the area who risked their lives to reach Britain answering the call from General de Gaulle to join the free French. There is also one of actual boats that they used, so small for ten men! There is also other interesting memorabilia.
The other part covers the fascinating local history of the sea.

Small and perfectly formed!

Interesting maritime museum, although it is virtually all in French.

The main museum has some large scale models of ships; various items from a pirate ship which sunk off Carantec; a collection of fossils and shells and an exhibit on the transporting of de Gaulle's family to the UK. The museum also has a smaller room in the hall on the other side of the road which gives details of wartime activities by local sailors to ship people to the UK.
