We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Saw this place in transit during a Slovakian heritage tour. It is small and quaint...something to consider if it is on the way between your travel destinations, but not necessarily worth a special trip.

Watch out for traffic along the highways! We needed to get to Vienna from here later that day for a planned evening event, and there was crippling highway gridlock. And there was no accident! Just a lot of cars on a highway with not enough lanes. This was on a Sunday afternoon. Hopefully the tunnel they are building through the mountain will resolve this once completed.

Crooks at every corner. You first pay for a hazardous parking, but unclear why since it is a public ground. You pay entrance, but then at every house there is a crook telling you that you need to pay more to see the miserable junk they accumulated in their house. The whole place is actually a very small village with a single miserable uphill street of 100m with nothing to see ( “private” houses or stands with crooks trying to take more of your money), and more cars than in a big city. Avoid!

It is a cute village, but like many more we drove through during our trip. Nice to walk around, seeing a woman washing here laundry in a small stream. The is a coffee shop with good potato pancakes. Nice place to spend an hour on route.

Maybe it is a bit too colorfully painted, as if it were festive. Usually, the entire village was not painted in one time ;-) There are several houses in the entire village that are still normally inhabited. It's worth to see and take some photos. It is a very picturesque and photogenic place. By the way, you can wander around the hills, as we did.

We came in winter on the most perfect sunny day! The colorful houses against the bare trees and distant white snow covered mountains created many perfect pictures. The dog loved running around while we looked at the cute houses

This village is not just an open air museum but you will find people actually still living in these historic wooden homes. Very picturesque and well worth to take the time to visit the places open to the public and read about the history of this village.

Worth a short drive off the main road.
Ignore the first parking area, it’s a long way, up a hill from the main parking area.
You pay for parking and entrance.
Then a short walk up a hill to a very pretty village.
It’s not a museum, people live here, but seem tolerant of the tourists, not that there are hoards.
The views of the surrounding hills are also beautiful.

An old picturesque village, built in the beautiful surroundings of the ridges of the Veľká Fatra mountains. In one of the preserved houses, it is possible to see how people have lived until recently, and on the surrounding meadows you can still see the terraces of fields on which the inhabitants once cultivated their crops for existence. Walking along the colorful little houses is like a walk in time ...
