Sightseeing Cristo Redentor and Alto da Serra
Feb 2019 • Solo
When visiting Serra Negra 02 good natural places to visit is Cristo Redentor that you can do the lift from city using "miniférico" and Alto da Serra the highest peak of region, a beautiful view and is possible see the cities near there. Going to Alto da Serra maybe you can cross with paragliders that do your launch from there.

Serra Negra's version of Rio's Corcovado

You take the snowless ski lift up. My review of the teleférico explains my opinions about the whole thing better but if you are in Serra Negra you might as well check it out. Serra Negra itself is pretty ok, but not really worth a visit during a tour of Brazil unless you have some specific reason to visit.

Coming to Rio means you have to see Cristo Redentor ... the iconic image of Crist associated with Rio. Accessible by public transport upto a point and then you have to take a ticket for minivan to reach the top, entry ticket is Rials 28. There is also the option to go up via cogwheel train. Stunning views of the city from top and of course of the statue.

There are no words for me to describe the feeling I had when I finally saw Cristo Redentor in person. It is everything you have heard about - amazing, spectacular, breathtaking, and everything in between.

The views from the top looking down to all of Rio, were spectacular too!

Worth the money to get there!

There are crowds, but that's to be expected. There is also free WiFi!!! Lol
