Nice ride to the top of the hill
Feb 2019
Good and efficient service, some shops downstairs with good facilities, at the top a combination of good view with some no nice looking sights. The replica of Rio de Janeiro´s Christ doesn´t look so bad.

Teleférico Serra Negra ("Miniférico")
Feb 2019 • Family
Do your lift to Cristo Redentor of Serra Negra from Sesquicentenário Square Park, the lift when no stop in the middle for adjustments is about 10 minutes to up and the same time to down the cost is about $10 (dollar) maybe a little less. At the top of the hill you can trekking in a small area with rocks and found some places of sightsseing, have bar serving beverages at the begin of miniférico and at the end opened unless in comercial hours (9am to 6pm).

Tacky but a must do

You can’t visit Serra Negra and skip the teleférico.
It is a quick ride up to the top. The staff operating the chairs were friendly and very helpful. I requested that they stopped the lift for my dad to get on and off due to a hip replacement: it was no bother at all to the staff. Respectful and efficient, they communicated among themselves and knew exactly who to stop the chairs for.

If you are from the interior of Brazil this place is pretty cool.

I am not. My wife and her family have childhood memories of this place and even they are not particularly impressed. This, like most of the attractions in Serra Negra, has a distinctly bygone era feel. The Christ Statue is a smaller, cheaper imitation of the one in Rio and the whole thing is not much to look at. At the top of the mountain were some rocks to look out at the pretty nice view, but a used condom packet laying there slightly stained some of the majesty of the moment.

Having said this, my two very young daughters seemed to enjoy it, and the locals seemed to as well. If you're visiting here like I am, you might as well succumb to its inexpensive charms.

It's not the sugar loaf, but it is Serra Negra's cable car
Jul 2014 • Family
This attraction brings childhood memories It is the most exciting activity for children in the region.
The cable car climbs more than 1500 meters and stop at the feet of the Cristo, where you can have a great view of the city. To make the best of it, spare 15-20 minutes to walk all treks at the top of the hill. The city scenery is unforgettable.

Great view of the city
Nov 2013 • Friends
Extending for about 1500 metres, the teleferico (cable car) lifts you above the city up to where the statue of Christ and a small bar are located. There is not much to see at the top of the journey - apart from the statue and snack bar, but the view during the journey and from the top is fantastic. It's worth taking a trip just to see the city from above.
