Furano is the best place to ski/board if you are a genuine winter sports person. Plenty of runs. Well managed and serviced. Back country options (but enjoy this more and stay safe with a local guide). But it is not a party town. So stay away if you want to drink beer all night (no night life) and definitely don't... I recently visited Furano with a mixture of Family & Friends, we had a fantastic time perfect snow with on piste powder runs every day!!, The resort is small compared to Australian ski fields however the snow quality is mind blowing and for the adventurous there is plenty of deep powder for days on end in the off piste areas,... We were there for five days. Hardly any crowds, great on piste runs and incredible off piste. Well worth a visit...

Great powder and very good side-country. No crowds, and its possible to still be getting freshies at 3pm! And like most of Japan, the pistes are immaculately groomed for a few feel-good runs. We stayed at the New Prince hotel, but there is nothing much there besides the hotel, so I would recommend to stay on the other side of... More

Unfortunately when we visited we had only a couple of days with small amounts of powder snow that fell!!!!! But, what we did receive was enough to get an idea of what it would be like on a good day!!!!! Great terrain, with easy to work layout!!!!!

Skied Furano Ski Area, which is part of the Prince Hotel group February 2017. Never crowded but noticeably busier on weekends, mid-week can be very quiet on the slopes. The resort allows tree skiing in some areas and after snowing the powder remains fresh due to the cold Hokkaido weather. Not a big destination by Japanese standards and small by... More

Furano is a quaint little ski village that can keep you busy for 3 days max unfortunately if you are above average skier. The snow is plentiful and dry and it seems to snow at least once a day. Runs are quiet long and wide with some challenging. Lift queues are non existent so you get plenty of runs in... More

Soft and dry powder snow! Doesn't snow as much as other ski resorts in Hokkaido that are closer to the coast but I can tell you the snow quality is amazing! Great for beginner and intermediates!

Stayed in Furano for 6 days and it snowed almost constantly! As hotel guests, full day lift tickets were ¥5000 per adult. As we are from Western Canada, I'd consider this a good intermediate Hill for the most part with a few challenging area if you like the trees. Most slopes are fairly wide open and well groomed although we... More

The skiing at Furano is excellent, with wide cruisy runs combined with some off piste and other challenges. The lift system is also very good, getting you easily from the Kitanomine side to the New Prince Hotel side, where the big ropeway and a couple of chairs get you everywhere. It did get a bit busy with school groups on... More
