Great preserved site. Due to barbarian invasions and malaria eventually all the inhabitants abandoned it. Because it was buried by sand for centuries it is remarkably well preserved. Great historical insight. Everyone needs to do this one!
Our guide Angela was knowledgable, engaging and funny. The ruins at Ostia Antica are a must-see -- they are in really good condition and provide a solid picture of what life was like in Rome in the 1st - 2nd c. CE.

We had an excellent guide Francesca who was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Enjoyed the tour immensely. No crowds, but only downside of visiting in December was that some of the mosaics were covered to protect from the weather.
