This is the Government Palace, but in front of it there is a wonderful square with amazing views to São Marcos Bay. the best of all, it is for free, one of the most beautiful spots in São Luis in my opinion!

Short but very interesting tour of the Palacio dos Leoes. The building and furniture is well kept up and there are many antiques from the 18th and 19th centuries. Well worth the visit.

The palace was built under a french influence in a perfect place with a wide view to the bay. The best time to visit is definitely when the sea is high tide - sun will reflect golden waters - a must see place in São Luis!

Interesting place - not much is left of the French influence in Brazil, so this was interesting to see. There were quite a few French tourists visiting as well

The Palace is really beautiful, seated by the bay. The sunset is the best time for pictures cause the waters at the bay are golden. It's an impressive building in the main area of town to visit with a couple other interesting buildings to check out.

Specially if you come from Europe, I really don´t expect you to be surprised inside. Only few rooms are available for visiting. It´s free though, so it´s worth to spend 15 minutes there and get to check one more item in your bucket list ;)
