This boat tour was part of a larger group tour booked through our hotel in Costa Rica. It made for a nice boat tour through a popular resortish area in Nicaragua, lots of very small island with some beautiful private residences. Unfortunately, the dozens of...More

Our hotel in Granada booked us a tour of the isletas with a stopover on Zopango Island. The islands themselves were beautiful. Unfortunately when we arrived at Zopango Island, we were made to feel quite unwelcome by the owner and his friends. The Nicaraguan staff...More

This was a beautiful boat tour of the small islands. Really worthwhile. We went with Vladimir Kayak and Boat (you can find him on FB). We speak Spanish so we had two local guides Pedro and Elio Diaz (brothers). Vladimir is also local and does...More

This is a great way to see the lake and some of the islands. Driver was very knowledgeable and told us about some of the people who lived on the islands. The monkey island was good and we got to feed the spider and white...More

We did this as part of a day trip from Costa Rica. We thoroughly enjoyed our boat trip seeing all of the islands (including those for sale and owned by ex-presidents). Knowing there were aggressive freshwater bull sharks and camens in the lake made it...More

The lake itself is quite polluted. This would be an absolute paradise if cleaned up! The monkeys were super friendly at monkey island. It's worth the tour for sure!

My partner and I opted to take the kayak tour of the islands. It was just the two of us and our guide was informative, having lived on one of the islands his whole life. There's a two or four hour tour and we did...More

The boat tour among the isletas in Lake Nicaragua was one of the highlights of our trip. It is well worth the $10 pp charge. We went twice! Beautiful small islands with private homes are quite unique. There is a nice breeze on the boat,...More

By boat is a great way to see the islands up close. You will see birds and iguanas as well as homes, bars, etc. built on the individual islands. I wish the monkey isolated on the little island had freedom and companionship.
