My partner and I opted to take the kayak tour of the islands. It was just the two of us and our guide was informative, having lived on one of the islands his whole life. There's a two or four hour tour and we did the longer. We took a few stops for him to explain various things to us,... More

The boat tour among the isletas in Lake Nicaragua was one of the highlights of our trip. It is well worth the $10 pp charge. We went twice! Beautiful small islands with private homes are quite unique. There is a nice breeze on the boat, a refreshing escape from the heat. We saw a variety of birds and the boat... More

By boat is a great way to see the islands up close. You will see birds and iguanas as well as homes, bars, etc. built on the individual islands. I wish the monkey isolated on the little island had freedom and companionship.

Lots of volcanic islands scattered near the coast of Granada. Many of them privately owned. Get there before it gets too popular

We took our hotel owner's advice and went with one of the local men who was offering a tour when we walked by Parque Central. It was $20 for the two of us for just under 2 hours. We were the only people doing the tour with him, we had the boat to ourselves. It was a reasonable walk to... More

This is a great beautiful scenery of nature. The small islands in the lake, the rainforest, the wild life and the volcanoes around the lake and the islands is just beautiful. Great weather. Perfect for small budgets as well.

Isletas de Granada is a 2-3 Boat Tour around the Lake Nica Islands. Each tour is different depending on your tour company and guide. The actual tour is great! We had our own boat, I believe it was $20USD per person or a little less. The boat took us around a few islands and a brief history of how they... More

Boat ride on the lake of Nicaragua is a very nice experience , you can see the people living on the cays transported and fishing on the lake , after a visit to the city of Granada visiting the lake is a must.

We took a private tour for a little over an hour for 30 dollars. We stopped at the fort to see the view, heard about the mansions, and saw the five spider monkeys. A very nice tour which the kids enjoyed. We just went to the boat dock at centro touristico and negotiated. Would not recommend a full day tour.

I have been here many times. Monkey island is a place of fond memories for me and my friends. We have taken this tour on our sight seeing day after we have completed medical and dental missions in Nicaragua. If you are lucky you boat driver will tell you much history about the islands. This is a laid back time... More
