This museum displays seafaring traditions of Nagu from the early 1800s until the present day.

There were two special exhibitions: Nagu and the archipelago fleet during the War of King Gustavus III and Bridges of Nagu.

Nagu is intimately connected to the sea and this museum presents many aspects of the connection. From the early days to the local families who started some of the biggest shipping companies in the world, it is all presented with creative exhibits, most in 3 languages. The staff person was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and her enthusiasm added a lot to our visit.

Nice exhibition!.
As a marine engineer in the past, it was good to visit this place and all the people around the boats.

Well laid out and interesting. I would have liked to see more information on the very early days of Finnish seafaring.

The Nagu Maritime Exhibition Sjofartshuset is located in a wooden building close to the Nagu church and the guest harbour. The exhibition concentrates on local seafaring history and ship-building.

There are several skillfully made ship models in the exhibition, many of them built by a local ship model builder Åke Sandvall, the man who has made many of the miniature ships hanging from the ceiling of local churches. A whole room has been dedicated to represent his work and the constructing of a ship model.
