Thes cabanes or 'bories' can be spotted all over the Perigord so it is good to find out a bit more about them in this village of Breuil. There is clear information in translation about the making and purpose of these charming stone buildings and there are also special things to amuse and interest children. Well worth a visit and... Was an interesting place to visit, not very big. Amazing to see how they were used in the medieval ages.

Excellent for adults and children to see how these ancient dwellings are constructed. Small animals wandering around and lots of mother hens and their chicks. The visit for my husband and I lasted around 2 hrs but with small children and a planned picnic could be much longer.

So, we went to St Andre and after much touring about and asking we found the site several miles away up the road to the Chateau de Puymartin. Quite interesting if you are a fan of agricultural history and building techniques. It was reasonably interesting but not much to keep you there beyond a quick look

Interesting place, Columbus discovered the Americas in 1492. This farm has been in the same family since 1449 and a family member still lives here. If you enjoy dry stack stone fences and celtic villages you need to visit here.

Not a location worthy of a long trip but if you are in the surroundings there is no reason not to visit it. The location gives a nice insight in the way people lived in the past. Interesting is that the location was used for the filming of Les Meserables. The movie not the musical version.

This group of stone only built houses, very well renovated by their present owners offers an interesting history of the peasant living there in the past

This was a lovely place to visit, run by the family that live here. The buildings are fascinating and the little guide sheets in English are very helpful in taking you round and explaining what you are looking at.
