This was our second visit, we returned with our daughter and her friend. Visiting this place evokes many emotions. It gives one an understanding of the hardships, dangers as well as camaraderie during the war.

When in you are in Cerkno, you should defenitely visit Partisan hospital Franja! A great monument of humanity of WW2. I recomend taking a guide as he explains a lot of details about process of building and operating of hospital in a beautiful gorge.

gorge and at the end of it you find a partisan hospital where people save human lives in very hard circumstances. A monument to how a big person a man can be.
