Lucky visitors have also spotted the Chinese White Dolphin swimming along the river-mouths.

You can reach the forest reserve by bus 77 from Taiping bus station. (Schedule can be get from bus station/tourist info at clock tower.) The visit was quite expensive in Malaysian standard (but of course not of western standards) - 15 ringgit per person for foreigners just for entrance. However, the possibilities of seeing animals on boardwalks are very high.... More

Matang Mangrove forest is 10km from Taiping .well taken care by the forest deparment with basic facility safety measures ,trained guides as well skilled boatman to take the visitors to the mangrove forest as well river cruise aroung Kuala sepetang ,kuala gula and kuala selinsing .there are chalets to stay overnite near the admin area in the mangrove plantatation.easily assesible... We can have know how about the mangrove forest. It takes around 20-30min to walk arounf the forest. Fresh air brezzing, cool and nice surrounding.

As the name suggested, this is the mangrove forest filled with thousand of rare mangrove trees. Boats are available for cruising and the main attraction here is the eagle feeding. The journey was unpleasant due to the condition of the vest provided that was tron down and not well cared. Later, when the bot starts to hit the village sights, it was nice to sight view the building structures established by the fisherman who lived along the river streams. Went with a group of friends for the cruise. Though not spectacular, it was still a very enjoyable outing. Went in 2014.

This is something one needs to do at least once: see red eagles swoop around food thrown out in the water. After that, take a slow ride around the waterfront housing community to see the local business activities.

This forest is just half an hour's drive out of Taiping and it is very beautiful. Indeed there are no guides to give more life to the visit but the forest by itself is simply wonderful. Some pieces of wood on the boardwalk are missing so be careful there, especially if you bring kids who skip ahead of you. Didn't... More

Nice place and relaxing. RM10 parking fee per entry. Get a lot of knowledge related to mangrove. Facilities need to improve. No clear signboard to guide tourists back/ getting out of the mangrove
