Recently returned from a weeks walking in Tuscany. The village was very special , quiet walled village, with a lovely atmosphere. A great location to visit the area. Able to walk from the village , yet Siena is only an hour away!

San Quirico d’Orcia is a special town with restaurants churches and food shops. What is remarkably missing is the plethora of dress, shoe and just plain junk shops aimed at separating women from their money. It’s very nice.
When we couldn’t find a place to park in Pienza we drove a few miles to this charming little Tuscan hilltop town. We had a delicious lunch at Trattoria Osenna. Interesting architecture in this unspoiled town. Worth a visit.

Yes there are. The commune has nice pedal assisted bicycles. The are located in the chigi palace which is the main commune building. You can ask at the tourist office also. Other places also rent bicycles and the tourist... More
