Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I knew this market as being a market catering for not only fruit and vegetables but fish, meat and poultry. It has delicatessen stalls not just charcuterie but a wide choice of cheeses. It also sells knick knacks, clothing and footwear, all in the centre of the village free from cars (as they are barred on this day, though plenty of carparking spaces) so you can wander safely or sit outside of a cafe and enjoy something to eat or drink while watching the world go by. As I said knowing this I took my son and his wife and my little grandson and they were not disappointed. They enjoyed the experience tremendously.

A real French provincial market. So much variety of excellent quality fruit, vegetables, cheese and meat. On top of that there are clothes, plants, honey, household stuff and much much more. A really good morning out, helped along by friendly shop owners and lots of cafes and bakeries to try out. Not to be missed.

We happened to be traveling in the area and were lucky enough to be in Piegut Pluviers for their weekly Wednesday Market. For such a small town the Market is fairly large, with many different things to select from. There were fruit stands, vegetables, cheeses, baked goods, selections of salamis, meat markets, honeys, etc., etc! We bought salamis and cakes from several of the vendors, and also strawberries that were about the tastiest and sweetest I have ever had. Go in the morning, because they all pack up and leave between 1:00 and 2:00.

We stayed very close to Piegut and only ventured in to browse the extensive market. It was a delight, selling everything from clothes to kitchenware, local cheeses, bread and locally made knives to live chickens! We spent a rainy morning poking our way through this extremely vibrant market.

Much more fun than when we went to Perigeux market which was a fresh produce market, whilst beautifully fragrant there is a limit to how many vegetables you want to see in an hour!

I would recommend this market.

A large street market with a good variety of food, veg and other stalls.
Good atmosphere for a Wednesday morning out.
Parking might be a bit of a challenge depending on number who decide to visit that particular day.

Typical French Market town with excellent weekly market and a good selection of restaurants. I ate at the brasserie L'etoile, in a covered courtyard I the rear, excellent food and wonderfully polite and helpful staff.. Highly recommended the homemade burgers.. Then sit out front and enjoy coffee as the world goes by.. 10/10.. The surrounding villages set in thick forests are just a delight to explore and the brasserie on the hill of St Barthélemy du brussiere is a must for a top notch high end evening meal..

Nice large French market with authentic products. Meanly food and some souvenirs. Some clothing.... but not really fashionable. But still nice to do!! Parking is a bit of a hassle.

We enjoyed our visit to this pleasant local market which had plenty of local produce on sale. It was nicely bustling today but apparently it gets very busy in tourist times and the advice is to go early. Well worth a visit.

We spent a very pleasant hour here today wandering up and down the 150+ market stalls spread over several streets in the town centre. Usual cheese, saucisson and hot food stalls together with a huge fresh fish stall, plants and flowers, mushrooms, snails, and even a chap selling wood burning stoves! Picked up a nice bottle of 2013 Cahors for under €4. If you're in the area on a Wednesday, it's worth dropping in, the earlier the better.
