Situated in the Naga Heritage park where the annual Hornbill Festival is held this small but well presented museum tells the story of the infamous Battle of Kohima. There interpretation is well done and the timeline of the batlle is detailed and engaging with a range of relics / exhibits from the conflict on display.

It’s a wonderfully created museum showcasing the Naga culture including garments, art & crafts, weapons etc. Entry fees is ₹10 and photography ticket costs an extra ₹50. Most of it is still under construction. For now it’s a small space. Hopefully the roads leaving to it will get better with sign boards on it so that the tourists can direct themselves easily to this destination. All in all it’s a quaint place.

This museum is a very quiet place and people, who love to know the culture and traditions of the Nagas, will love to visit it again and again.

A very good place to be with family and children. It is located on the main road. Car parking available. Tickets to be purchased. Takes about 1 hour to rush up the entire place. All the North East customs traditions displayed. A must if you are in Kohima.

Very well designed museum which displays all aspect of Naga life, culture and history. The life size models were the best i have seen during my visit to several museums across the globe. You can also know about the important archaeological sites in Nagaland. Good paintings with accompanying models highlights the various sports activities of Naga tribal people. Educative for one and all BUT sadly lacks visitors both from India and abroad due to lack of proper advertisement among visitors.Dresses, weapons and daily used items were displayed to give proper emphasis to each aspect of Nagas .Lacks proper sanitation facilities in and aronud the museum.Sorry to say that NO relevant literatire and books. cards were available during my visit. It seems that no one cares about this unique museum.

The Kohima museum gives a quick overview of the history, culture, flora, fauna and topography of the 7 North Eastern states. There is also a small shop selling local handicrafts and artifacts. The restaurant outside the museum building is well know for its local food.
