Travelled to gwalior on a short trip just last weekend, Visited Gwalior fort and the best part is that the place isnt crowded much. You can have view of gwalior city from the fort.

very different experience as the fort is of different architectural qualities and quite separated from the town itself. There is a school and some residential buildings near but it feels quite secluded and peaceful. The fort itself and museum are both very interesting.

Some part of the fort is always under renovation. Don't think it should restrict photography though.
