Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nice experience in North Karelia, eastern Finland. Warmly welcoming spa hotel with always kind personnel serving the best for the customer's easy, and yet relaxing, vacation.

Rather small spa, one bigger pool and few Jacuzzis. Price is rather high compared to what you get. Anyway, in Nurmes there is not much to see so this is good activity for family.

I visited with my family and my son's friend at Sokos Hotel and Spa Bomba. I was quite impressed By the spa's unique atmosphere! It was like walking in the quiet forest, enjoying a nice swim in the lake and a sauna By the lake.
The pools were beautifully lighted with shades of blue and green, over them the starry sky. Saunas were cleverly designed and each has its own character. The ice and water tap for drinking was great idea!
Showers had some surprises, both enjoyable and causing some giggles😁. I strongly recommend! 👍😁
Only minus comes from pools outside. They are small and same kind of jot tubs than one thats inside. There should be one real swimmimg pool, even a small one!

I have just been to the spa side of the hotel. It received a major overhaul 2017 and looks much nicer than before. The white of the old spa changed to an overall dark and even black style. It eventually fits nicely into the “Karelian” style though. Inside and outside all surfaces have been renovated. The materials used feel and look fine. And even though everything is very dark, they use a lot of small LEDs so there is always enough light. There is one major pool with lots of water massage points available. One whirlpool inside and two outside are accompanied with a hot pool, a cold dipper and one for small children. This spa is for everybody young and old. A major change is that apart from the area you change your clothes everything is gender neutral. This brings along that you will need to wear your swimming trunks in the sauna as well. Strange enough you can have a drink in the pool area and sit down in some very comfortable chairs. As for the saunas, there are three of them. Two Finnish type saunas and one steam room. I think the overhaul to this spa made it far more comfortable than before. Perhaps the only minus is that some areas are fairly slippery when wet.
