The team of 4 , Cassandra, Julie, Anna & Bruce led us for Aurora Boraelis hunting on the 21st night. At first attempt the results of spotting the lights ended in failure , which was very depressing but the team thought otherwise and took us to another spot where we got to see the heavenly lights in all its colors and shapes. It was unbelievable. This attitude of trying to satisfy the needs of the customer is what will take the company forward. Also, the team were a great help when my wife, who had slipped and injured herself, requested that we be dropped off at the apartment. This courteous gesture definitely needs a special mention.
Big thank you, team Lapland Safaris.

Early December 2022. Party of 3 - G.Daughter, my wife and myself.
Fantastic trip. Beautiful country and lovely people. Well looked after for the trip from the initial meeting to the day we left.
Trip to the hotel and then to the resort was a little lengthy not just the journey but the resort staff can drag out the entertainment on board a bit. On arrival its nice to get information but the journey to Lapland took long enough and a little time to let the travelers reflect and unwind on the way to the hotel.
Staff in the shop were accommodating and knew what was required in regards to clothing. Plenty to look at whilst waiting.
Rooms were lovely and warming. After eating and exploring the exhaustion sets in.
The day of the trip to the resort is full on from the minute waking up.
the resort is full of wonders and delight. All staff there really made the day. Toboggining / rides / hockey / Ice fishing etc. Keeps all entertained. Do the trip to visit the big man as early as only due to several coaches arriving at once can get busy.
Huskey ride was amazing. One adult gets to drive the sledge and the rest get to enjoy the ride. A real experience.
Food is a spaghetti Bolognese bread and a drink. Vegetarian options is available. Biscuits and hot drinks everywhere.
One let down. We all went to have a sleigh ride with the reindeers. Arrived at the place to be greeted by other people waiting to enjoy the same. A warm fire was a very welcoming sight. When the staff started to brief us one of them became very aggressive and loud. The language was absolutely disgusting. Adults and young children felt quite threatened and taken a back. I'm pretty hardened with a milltary background but the threatening nature of this person shocked me. I stood away from the ride as I wanted My wife and G. Daughter to enjoy it. The gentleman who was aggressive and verbally rude mouth thought the way he spoke was correct and apologetic. After the ride we went away not wanting it to ruin the day. we were called over by some other guests who where speaking a rep. we all regaled our store to the rep who took all our details and said that some one would be in contact with us....................still waiting for this call and we are now in May.
On arrival at the airport on our way home this story was still going around. We were approached by a senior staff member who also repeated that someone would be in contact about the incident.... again nothing. Now i really would of thought that we would of heard something as in the end the incident did affect all who were involved as we are to this date still talking about it.
Lets hope that the person who though they could speak to paying customers is no longer involved.
Evening Gala is really aimed at the children for the entertainment. Food is fantastic. Very fish based but still amazing. Can be strange for a sensitive pallet but please try what's on offer. it may surprise you.
A fantastic trip.

The staff at Lapland Safari - Ria, Aaro, and Tolka were very helpful and friendly. We did two tours with them - the husky dog 10km sleigh ride where we had a blast on our 1 hour ride, meeting the dogs and learning all about the huskies from our knowledgeable husky guide, Ollie. We had a hot drink by the fireplace, interacting with the farm cat and a two-month old puppy afterwards. It was a great experience.
Our second tour was the snowmobile and reindeer farm tour. The snowmobile ride was amazing as it allowed us to experience beautiful snow landscapes at sunset and we thoroughly enjoyed this.
However, the reindeer farm was a letdown. The sleigh ride consisted of going in a circle very slowly on the farm premises itself. We also did not get to learn how to throw ‘suopunki’ (Lappish lasso used to catch reindeer) as described on the website. The guide didn't seem experienced or knowledgeable - it felt like she was telling us secondhand information she had read.

Thank you for your feedback.
Glad to hear you had fun snowmobiling and husky safari. We are sorry that the reindeer safari did not meet your expectations. Reindeer sleigh ride is more calm than husky sleigh ride as you notice. Reindeers are walking whereas huskies are running.
I hope we will see you again here in Saariselkä.

Varying experience with Lapland Safaris. Did several excursions including snowmobile, reindeer, huski, snowhiking and with a sled behind the snowmobile in search of the northern lights.
The reindeer experience was a disappointment. in a train behind each other where the reindeer was attached to the front sleigh etc. Promised we could take pictures of the northern lights, unfortunately there was no stopping. you could have pictures taken with your own cell phone while you were in the sleigh. Cell phone and photos when it is dark of course does not work. Soon you got something to drink and you could go again.
Looking for the Northern Lights with the sled behind the snowmobile .
Heavy cloud cover and snowfall. We already indicated to the guidance that it would certainly not be a success. However, the supervisor thought differently about this. Left with the sled (it had a plastic windshield and roof) full of snow so that the front one could not see anything. stopped several times for a break, which was really the way to buy time (we heard this in the conversation between the guides) otherwise we would be back way too early. This excursion was a real disappointment. Had given the option to do it on another night.
The huski safari was very well organized with very friendly guides. The snowshoe safari was also well organized with a guide who gave a lot of information and was very friendly.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry we didn't fulfilled your expectations in all our safaries. The weather in winter time might be challenging and sometimes it is snowy in the beginning of the safari when we go look for the norhern lights. You also never know what happends with the weather during the evening and maybe you will see the norhern lights. We are happy you also got good memories from Lapland and enjoyed husky safari and snowshoe excursion.

We had a great Tour with the Snowmobile to the Husky Kennel.
OurTour guide David was excelent. Fluent english and great informativ trip.
Also we had a small group of 4 so it was quite chilled and we had no hesitation in any way. If we come back to Saariselkä again we probably will do another Tour with this company.
Best regards ,
Thomas and Jessice

Big groups - no fun for anyone. Slow. No trail groomig. Get ready for a bumpy ride! If groomed (not by them), they will unleash a steady supply of snowmobiles to make the trails as bumpy as they can.

A great week full of adventures and activities. Both children and adults enjoyed the moments: snowmobile, icefishing, huskies, reindeers, aurora borealis... so much to remember. Rythm is adequate to be active and have opportunities to rest.
Very nice and competent team. A special big thank you to Nico, our main guide for the week, very helpful and always with a smile!

Hi! Maybe a silly question: On Friday we will take you on a snowshoe hike to the Northern Lights. This is an activity that has been on our bucket list for years. Do you know if we have a good chance of seeing it on Friday? Or is it smart to book an extra day of northern lights?

Hello Lapland safari,
We are looking to plan our big vacation for end of this year or next year. I have several questions which can make this experience much easier and better.
1. What hotels do you pick up from in the sarisselka area? Trying to figure out hotels to stay.
2. Right now are we in a solar flare down period. I read several sources that this can lead to a lower possibility of the viewing the northern lights but I absolutely want to come and see them as it is a bucket list item.
3. Looks like Levi has some amazing reviews and tours. Can we specifically request and are schedules usually busy?
I appreciate all your answers and hope you have a nice day.

I’m not Lapland Safari but
1. Santa Tunturi hotel was in easy walking distance as were a few others around us. Rooms were big and new and ours had a sauna in it.
2. Don’t expect the huge flare northern lights. We saw lights and there’s every chance you will too but they were dull. The huge flare is a rarer event and you may have to wait weeks to see one.
3. Lights are difficult to photograph. If you want to do this prepare yourself before you go. A camera will need a tripod. Our Apple phone seemed to work best with a real simple app called “NorthernLights” (surprise)
