This pathway is well worth a visit. Carved through Tuff rock by the Etruscans, the vertical walls of this narrow pathway create a wonderful contrast of bright light and shadow, which open out into spaces with nice views through the valley. There is a pleasant...More

This is a good one. See Etruscan caves and enjoy spectacular views of Sorano. You can take the easier route or climb almost straight up on the "Ricchetto" path. I think this means 'rocket to the top'. There are trail signs explaining the flora, which...More

These are ancient pathways of the Etrucans carved from the tufa so common to the area. The mystery and sheer beauty of these sunken pathways link your modern footsteps to those who went before so long ago.

I great place for a hiking tour or only for short visit. These are old roads carved in the rock - still carrying in some section solar symbols to scare the enemies. The roads are part of a relatively big archeological park featuring some wonderful,...More

There are several vie cave taking off from Sovana. Do not miss the opportunity to walk them. Keep your eye out for carvings and shrines along the route. Do not be surprised if you discover you are the only one visiting them

It is simply amazing how an ancient society can construct such monuments and roads. The signs around the area give some information and explanations in English about the Etruscan people and the whole area is nice for a hike or just an easy walk in...More

If you are even slightly interested in the Etruscan civilisation this is a must to see. Hidden in the forest very mysterious place. You will be surprised how advanced architectonically they were. How to find it: the entry to the park is not in the...More

We explored this fortress with other tourist, and the tour guide spoke 3 languages and was very helpful. The tour lasted 1 hour and took us through some very interesting caves, dated back many centuries. Glad to have visited the town and toured.
