Prepare to be wowed by overkill. It is as if the priest went overboard with the order form. There are enough statues and paintings to fill 3 churches. Don't miss the catacombs downstairs, although there are no mouldering bodies. What a wonderful thing to find...More

A must see in Mazara dell Vello. The inside is beautifully decorated in the elaborate baroque style. It's not what I'd put in my house, but it sure is marvelous to look at. Check out the little model museum next door for a perfect model...More

The church of San Francisco is absolutely beautiful inside. The outside looks like any other Sicilian church but the inside is beautiful beyond description. You must see this place.

If you are visiting the town then this is a must see. The inside is an amazing visual feast with ornate decoration and a marble alter exquisitely carved in the 16th century.

We didn't have long to spend in this lovely church but, like so many churches in Sicily, it is well worth seeing.

I am a sucker for baroque churges and this one does not let you down. Quite simply it is beautiful no matter where you look. Not only is there no fee for this but there is an exhibition next door of models of different churches....More
