Majestic castle ruins
Jan 2020 • Couples
Although the castle is closed until April, it’s worth driving up to see it (around the corner from Glenfiddich distillery) and the neighbouring highland cattle!

The castle is closed till spring so we walked around and saw the castle from the outside and took some picture and it was nice.

Castle Ruins Outside Glenfiddich Distillery
Jun 2019
Intriguing to wander through the castle ruins after a tour of the Glenfiddich distillery. It's just a very short walk up a scenic country road. There is a separate admission fee, but you can wander sort-of around it on the road if the admission cost is a no-go. It is pretty intact, though the upper levels are all gone.

Simply amazing
Sep 2019 • Couples
There is something special about the smell of a whiskey distillery and a historic castle. Simply amazing. Not much parking but worth walking if necessary.

A nice walk
Sep 2019 • Couples
We walked from our B&B in Dufftown to the castle. Very nice walk. A little pricey but figure it helps for further restoration. A good 30-45 minutes to walk through it all. We packed our lunch and ate at the picnic tables.

The ruin trail
Sep 2019
If you love a good ruin, and are in the vicinity, then you should add this to your itinerary, and especially if you have an explorer pass. Don was the attendant, and particularly helpful. A little bit of imagination goes a long way when it comes to exploring ruins - and I can't help but be drawn into what life must have been like. Coming from Australia, a very young country, I am continually fascinated by buildings (even ruins) that stand testament to their makers and all that walked through their halls.

Nice to see old ruins looked after
Aug 2019 • Family
Always nice to see old castles being looked after and open to the public.

A great site where you could easily see where the upper floors sat and imagine what the vastly originally looked like.

Only a short walk up the hill from the nearby distillery so easy to combine visits to generate income for the site.

Not much there, and not much info...
Aug 2019 • Couples
There’s very very little of the castle to explore, and precious little in terms of information boards etc. It would make a lovely spot for a picnic but it’s a bit pricey - £6 per adult was steep considering how little there is to see. I’d suggest going to the (free) castle at Duffus instead - more info, more ruins, more interesting.

Pretty ruins
Jul 2019 • Family
Well kept pretty ruins of a castle / tower house, on Glenfiddich’s doorstep. Former layout is well preserved and ruins is very accessible from its ultra close parking. Welcome intermezzo in between distillery visits
