Peaceful, historic luxury villa.

We spent time in Luca, Cinque Terre & Positano in Sept., 2010 and were so disappointed to not visit Villa Mansi at that time since it was closed for renovations.
Cinque Terre was inundated with swarms of tourists.

Not the best villa to visit in the area
Jun 2019 • Couples
We enjoy visiting the Lucchese villas which abound in this area of Tuscany whenever we holiday over there as we like to imagine what these houses were like in their heyday. Sadly, we found this one to be very disappointing. The villa itself looks quite impressive but the decaying stable buildings around the car parking area do not give the best first impression. We were the only visitors and were greeted by a lady in the ticket office who gave us a sheet of paper with a little history and told us that one floor of the villa was open to the public but was empty apart from one bedroom which had an old bed in it. We were impressed with the very clever trompe l'oeiul effects in the main hall where they apparently host business events from time to time. It was a very hot day and we wandered around the gardens which quite frankly were not that well kept especially when compared to the wonderful Villa Reale in nearbly Marlia.

A real laate autumn afternoon treat
Nov 2017 • Couples
We assumed on approaching the Villa that we'd have just a peak over the walls and through the gates as we came in late November on a Monday afternoon. Instead we discovered it open and free to over 65s! The gardens in the warm sunshine were stunning with some great developing views of the perfectly symmetrical house. We were delighted to be able to walk round the place alone just soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying the wall decorations, sculptures and stunning views across the garden from the windows, some of which had been thrown open. An excellent place to recommend.

Historic Highlight

An amazing property to visit. The gardens were beautiful and the brief tour of the interior was well worth it. Driving to the villa is an experience as you see many stunning vistas.

A hidden delight
Oct 2016 • Couples
Oh, this villa just got better and better. From a very low-key frontage the villa unfolded itself, showing the beauty of the rooms, the decoration and the outlook. Just as we thought we had come to the end of the tour, we were then shown a floor of paintings, followed by an exhibition of the most amazing clothes, fabrics and religious regalia. (Not normally my favourite but the workmanship and fabrics were stunning.)

Spend a morning or afternoon here. Don't rush. Enjoy.

21 of us there for a wedding
Dec 2014 • Friends
TripAdvisor asked why I was visiting the Villa Manzi website. We rented two of the homes on the Villa Manzi estate because we had 21 people there for a wedding. We are Planning a return trip and hope to rent there again. The rental is 40 minutes to everywhere. Florence, Piza, Lucca, Wine Country, Cinque Terra and Parco de Pinnochio. The grounds are beautiful and the people are wonderful.

Spectacular in its time
May 2012 • Couples
A garden guide said this was a garden to see, so while visiting Lucca we drove out to Villa Mansi. The villa itself would have been spectacular in its time, with most rooms needing further restoration. It appears the owner lives at the top of the villa and opens it for tourists to see plus the gardens. The rooms had colourful mosaics, paintings and statues. The garden had waterfalls and water ponds and features. Again it was going through renovation and in time should look good when all finished. The facade of the building was very impressive with its statues. Nice to see.
