This domed beauty sits atop the old town of Altea and is a must-see. The church dominates the landscape and lures tourists from all over the world. Pop in for a bit of peace - and maybe a prayer - away from the throng.

A truly amazing and perhaps somewhat exhausting climb up the thousands of steps winding around the narrow streets which are beautifully decorated with overhanging shrubbery and roses. There are numerous shops and bars along the way. Once you arrive at the Parroquia Nuestra Senora Del...More

This is a must see place. Old and cobble stairs but like a little maze of roads with lovely little shops. The views of the sea are fantastic and so many restaurants. Lovely either during the day or at night.

Beautiful place to visit surrounded by lovely eating places to sit and watch the world go by. We cheated by getting the taxi we hired to take us to the old town to drop us at this church to remove the climb up there.

Well worth the treck up hill to visit and see inside this chapel. Inside is spectacular, such lovely statues and we spent time in awe absorbing them. It offered a tanquil and a much needed break from the hustle and bustle of Altea. Pity we...More

Altea is a much more relaxed town than it's neighbour, bustling Benidorm. There is more of a Spanish feel to it. The beach is pebble strewn but pleasant and very quiet (in May). It's easily accessed by the trams running from Alicante to Dénia. Climb...More

Well worth a visit. We visited this area twice and still saw different pictures views. We were lucky to see a lovey wedding taking place.

Our second visit to this stunning church in Altea. Be warned, the climb is not for the faint hearted, we counted 287 steps from street level to the top!!! There are plenty of resting places along the way, and once you reach the top you...More

At long last we were able to get access to the inside of this magnificent church and it is indeed as magnificent inside as you would imagine it to be from the outside – a truly classically Spanish Roman Catholic edifice. For some reason the...More

Yes you can get a taxi to it. There is a small taxi rank quite close(just before) the 222 steps up the hill, which makes the worthwhile trip to the church with all the restaurants really easy on your legs.
