Beautiful experience

We parked nearby and walked up the tree lined road to the church. Sadly damaged by the earthquake and still not open, but you can take pictures through a broken window. Beautiful grave yard. Worth the visit.

Sad but beautiful

Lovely walk up to this Church, a beautiful tree lined route. Sadly Church still badly damaged and closed. Sad looking around cemetery at the memorial to the Italian soliders. Very humbling and thought provoking experience

I visited the church in June, but not possibility to enter, it's closed, and still not renoved after the earthquake; the church has many cracks, and the windows are broken;
around the church is a special cimetary to visit;
in the park around, under a tent, marquee, the mess will be held.
quit and nice place to visit.

uplifting experience
May 2018
this was a return visit for Whit Sunday mass, unfortunately the damage sustained in last years earthquake is still evident and the church building is unsafe to enter. However there is a side chapel which is outside where mass is being held.The cemetery is still accessible and is well worth a visit. The parish is not at all wealthy and would be grateful for any donations that visitors could spare.

A small and elegant church
Jun 2017 • Couples
The church is situated at about 300m from Casa Romana. Before 1948, the Agnus Dei parochial church was located near the seafront; that impressing building was transformed in Orthodox church, a Metropolitan one (its Romanesque architecture is clearly atypical for a Greek Orthodox church). So, the existing Agnus Dei parochial church is a relatively new building, with an elegant design. Unfortunately, it was seriously damaged by the earthquake which hit Kos in June 2017; however, the religious service is still officiated, just outside the building. Near the church there is a small cemetery, with a memorial stone dedicated to the Italian solders who refused to continue the war after the surrender of their country (September 1943) and were shut by Nazis (Kos was under German occupation in the WWII). Between the ruins of Casa Romana and the remaining of Italian solders, it is a good place for reflecting to Ecclesiastes' words.

Get there early

The actual church building is derelict and mad takes place under a gazebo. If you arrive two minutes late (as I did) you sit outside. The sound of crickets means that you can't hear a word!

Peaceful tranquil and well worth a visit

Went for Sunday mass and found it was quite small but beautiful. The walk down the county lane is the start of a wonderful experience. The cemetery is well kept and spine tingling, the church itself holds about 30 and you so easily loose yourself in its beauty.
